Just had a sleep study which puts me back on CPAP (from BiPap, which was ineffective and giving me terrible readings).
My research says that the Airsense 10 (For Her - does the algorithm for women really make a difference) and the Dreamstation Auto CPAP are the two top contenders.
I have had Respironics equipment for the 10 years I have been treated for sleep apnea. I'm thinking maybe it's time to give ResMed a try.
Would be grateful for any recommendations, pro or con, for either machine.
Thanks in advance!

Give the ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet for Her a try.
It has 3 modes of operation
cpap
apap regular algorithm
special algorithm apap for her
I don't know if you would benefit from the "for Her" algorithm but it's there available in case you want to try it.
ResMed's auto adjusting algorithm is different from Respironics auto adjusting algorithm....you might like it better anyway no matter which auto mode you end up using.
I am using the for her mode right now...I find I rather like what it does. Suits my needs. I have seen a few people try it and it didn't suit their needs...that's okay because the regular auto algorithm is also available.
One thing is does that I like....if I have 2 OAs within a minute (and I will do it in REM sometimes) then the machine automatically establishes a new minimum (2 cm higher) for me for the rest of that sleep session. Once the machine gets turned off it forgets the new minimum.
This new minimum usually keeps me clear the rest of the night. Now I suppose I could just set it 2 cm higher to start with but the thing is I don't always have 2 OAs pop up in REM within a minute. I see no sense in using 2 cm more minimum all night long every night just for rare happening stuff.

Thanks, Pugsy! This is the one I was leaning towards anyway, but I'm glad to know you are happy with it, and I also think having the extra algorithm can't hurt and might make things better.
