Hi. I am coming up on a year using my CPAP machine and using different masks. I love the ResMed P10 mask but it feels like knives are chewing my nose up after about three hours of use. I’ve tried the different creams suggested on this forum to no avail. My question is, I am due for a new mask and was wondering whether anyone else who might have this issue has ordered the new ResMeded P30i or the N30i and if they also are having a allergic reaction. I just talked to ResMed and they really have no solution other than to say the nose pillows are made of silicone although I am using, right now, the ResMed Swift LT and not having any issue with those nose pillows. I bought a used one to carry me til time for my next mask. It’s been frustrating because I really love the lightness and function of the P10. I guess I should order a new SwiftLT if you feel I might suffer the same outcome. I just like the new features of their updated P30i and N30i masks.
PS. FYI - I’m using a weighted blanket and getting a much better night sleep. It’s like giving your body a hug or like swaddling a baby I assume. Just in case anyone was thinking of getting one. It works for me.

My first thought was to say that I wouldn't know a good mask if it bit me on the nose, but my bad jokes help no one.mapabl wrote: ↑Mon Jun 03, 2019 1:06 pmHi. I have to keep my P10 straps very loose by moving them apart (top one forward) any time I feel any pressure on my nose. I have issues with the P10 also, but it is the best I personally have experienced, better than the Swift LT, although I do use that one for travel. That said, I haven't been motivated to try any of the versions newer than the P10. And masks are so highly individual that one user's experience may not always inform another user's. The proof is in the tasting of the nostrils--oops--I mean, pudding.
I will be keeping an eye on this thread to learn from what other posters have to say on it all. So, thanks for the question!

Re: ResMed P10 chewing my nose up
It took me a couple weeks using the p10 part of the night to get where I could use it all night long... I'd start out with it, then switch to setting else.

As jnk says, you might want to adjust the straps to make them a little looser. If you are using a S or M pillow, try going up a size. I started at S, then M was better, but L was the most comfortable by far, even though it’s really a little too big. I bend the pillow pieces inward a little when I put the mask on to get the best fit.
Remember, the concept is that the pillows rest on the ends of your nostrils; they shouldn’t get wedged in.

Thank everyone for your input. I’ll try the larger size nose piece with some Lansinoh cream. Hopefully, it will give some relief.

I used the p10 for several years as well and it would rub my nose raw at times. It worked best for me after it got old and the silicone wasn’t quite so stiff. I used Neosporin cream with the pain reliever in my nose when it would get really bad. Is the p10 the only pillows mask you ever used?
