The newest ones take up less space on the side table.
Really? A few square inches ... offset by the fact that the Resmed has the hose coming out the back and the humidifier needs room on the side to pull out? Not to mention the DreamStation has a flat top that you can put things on (yes I do this almost every day). I'd say this ones a tossup.
Well, yes, for some people, the 88.92 sqin of the dreamstation vs the 45.88 sqin of the Resmed air machines is significant.
It would seem that your ResMed therapy is second rate because it has addled your brain! You use the height instead of the width - the footprint is just under 60 sq inches for the AirSense. Add to that the hose and the water tank on the side instead of on the top like the DreamStation, its hard to say the ResMed has any advantage in this area.

Just curious - why are the ResMed AirSense considered superior to the Dreamstation? The several Philips machines I've had have kept my AHI under 0.4 for years, which is as close to perfect as I might expect.

4...ResMed's exhale relief is superior to Respironics in that a person can get up to a full 3 cm drop during exhale no matter how forcefully they breathe. With Respironics the most you can get is up to 2 cm reduction (even at max setting of 3) and you get that only if you are a forceful breather. Shallow breather won't even get that 2 cm.
Probably not a big deal when the pressures are in the single digits but could be really important and critical at the pressure in the teens.
Not to mention aerophagia issues that might crop up.

Thank you for helping me decide, I just picked up the Airsense 10 Auto instead of the DreamStation because of #4 Comment.
My machine is operating in the middle teens and I use the Exhale relief.

Also the Airsense Auto was the one that Kaiser lent me for a few days and said that I had good results.

Well, since you have resorted to petty insults since you have no valid points in your championing of an inferior product, AND because the OP has already made the best choice, I see no reason to continue this futile dialogue.

Yes, on my phone, I misread a spec. The proper footprint is 88.92 for the dreamstation, and 59.33 for the air10 models, a difference of 29.59 square inches. I will point out that, by your own admission, my statement is correct: "the newest ones talked up less space on the side table.", Approximately 2/3rds the space of the respironics.

I'll let rational people make their decision as to whether this is significant, to them.

Cheers
