Hi all you lovely people.

I promised to write back after Easter, but it took a bit longer to arrange everything.

I have now resolved the issue. I am changing hospitals. I am changing to a hospital that supplies newer machines. I have just been in contact with them and on monday I am going to collect my new Dreamstation CPAP. I think it is the standard model, so no Sleepyhead compatability, but at least I get a newer machine with a far superior dust filter.
I am really looking forward to it and the it won't cost me a dime.

Thank you for all your advice.

You should absolutely, positively, refuse to accept any machine that doesn't have full data.

ResMed AirSense™ 10 AutoSet™ CPAP Machine with HumidAir™ Heated Humidifier is the best choice of a new machine. That’s the one my husband and I both use. Love it! Comes in a nice soft carry bag good for traveling.

Thank you Palerider. I have checked with a friend who has a dreamstation from the same hospital. I asked him for the reference number (as the dreamstations all look the same). The reference number is a 500-model, meaning that it is an "auto" which has full data.

Personally I couldn't get used to the Dreamstation when I was trialling it.

I think now I have more knowledge behind me which may help.

I am now trialling a Resmed AirSense™ 10 AutoSet™ CPAP...the trial machine has the "For Her" setting....I have found this setting/algorithm best for me

Good luck with the Dreamstation
