Airsense 10 Auto with Error Message

Post by bikerbum » Tue Apr 30, 2019 8:13 am

I am getting an error message in the window of my Airsense 10 Auto. It says "Attention: The electrical connection at the rear of your device is not fully inserted".

I have checked it and unplugged and re-plugged several times. I am sure it is fully inserted but I cannot find a way to make the message go away. The machine works as normal except the message is always there and the screen and home buttons are fully lit (distracting at night). Does anyone have a clue for how I can clear this message? All suggestions are appreciated.

I have no idea why this should be happening - You can call ResMed, or you can go to your DME, but it sounds like a fault to me.

If unplugging & re-plugging does not help, the issue could be either with the power brick or the machine.

One other thing you could try. Unplug from the wall for 10 minutes & then reconnect. Perhaps that can reset something that is "confused"

This occurs when the centre pin (3.3 volt) isn't making [good] contact with the pin receptacle on the back of the device.

Some possible causes:
  • Not inserted correctly
  • Water damage
  • Missing or bent middle pin
Inspect the connector, pay close attention to middle pin, straighten if bent, but will be difficult without very narrow tools. Put a multimeter against it, and measure the voltage.

The pin and the outer shell should measure 3.3v, the inner shell and outer shell should measure 24v.

If everything checks out ok, it's likely something wrong with the internal connectors on the device. If not the power supply needs to be replaced.

Thanks to all who replied. The center pin looks ok and I think the power supply is good because everything operates as normal except for the error message and the "window" staying lit all the time. I tried connecting my 12V power supply and got the same error message so I guess the problem is in the device board. Guess I'll live with it for a while and see if anything changes.

Resmeds run on 24 volts.
