Messed up display
Messed up display
I am using Windows 10 Home on a Dell XPS laptop (10 Inch) and the display is really messed up, particularly the daily. I am attaching a screen shot file. I am running Sleepyhead V 1.0.0-Beta-2[cb213ccOpenGL]

Re: Messed up display
Try going into the program and using the Broken GL app exe file instead of the Open GL app exe file to open the program and see if that helps or not.

Re: Messed up display
Thank you, I tried that but the results are identical. BTW, when I print the results everything looks fine, so it is clearly something to do with the display graphics. I will search in the Windows help.
Re: Messed up display
Sorry that didn't work and it's the only thing I can think of at the moment.
The broken vs open gl thing has to do with graphics display and that's why I thought it might fix things.
Maybe someone else better skilled in this sort of stuff can offer an idea. My skills in this particular area are extremely limited.

Re: Messed up display
Windows 10 is the worst OS that Microsoft has ever made ... unfortunately I have it too. I suspect the Home version is worse by a factor of 2 as well.
You have lots of issues starting with the laptop. For $150 or less you can buy an inexpensive monitor and use the laptop to display on it with a simple cable. With that small of a laptop I would not consider much over 800 x 600 resolution but maybe 1024 if it is a decent screen - no more however.
Check your Win 10 DPI scale and make sure it is at 100% ... not higher. Right click the desktop and go to display settings.
On your display you can take the cursor and grab the graph between tow of them and pull it down to make it bigger horizontally until you can read the test on the side.
Then go to preferences and then appearance. Change your fonts to a lesser size you can still read - especially Big text and Graph Titles. Be bold in the reductions also.
Next take the cursor and put on the left side of the graph and pull the worthless ones to the bottom and move the useful ones like pressure, leak, etc. up to the top.

Sounds like you never heard of Windows Vista! Best Is XP Pro, but we must adapt or die. JimRexlan wrote: ↑Tue Apr 23, 2019 10:43 amWindows 10 is the worst OS that Microsoft has ever made ... unfortunately I have it too. I suspect the Home version is worse by a factor of 2 as well.

Re: Messed up display
Yep ... I passed on Vista totally and hung on to XP Pro as long as possible. That was hands down the best SW Microsoft ever made. I still have it on the wife's CPU but I could not handle all the nag screens and finally gave up and switched to Win 10 ... yuk!

Re: Messed up display
Thanks for all suggestions, it turns out I just had to reduce the font sizes in Sleepyhead.

Re: Messed up display
BTW, I have no serious complaints about Windows 10, it has never crashed on me, and I have been using Windows since it came out, when Windows was just riding on top of DOS, as a programmer. I would have switched to LINUX when it came out, it is a vastly better OS, but I had to use MS Office and MS VB, so not a choice. With a touch screen the new user interface makes more sense. My main complaint is that it is harder to change Windows settings. Apparently they are afraid of people messing things up and calling MS support.
