Hey, Goof, the "Y" often has watercise classes.
Especially for the barely ambulatory.
Maybe even affordable.
I'm thinking more of like a Livestock Watering Tank, from Tractor Supply. Maybe, put a treadmill in the tank to walk in place on. I can't walk enough to make it anywhere. Jim

I got one about twenty years ago. Every summer you could (if you wanted to) see me in it. Cowboy hat,can of bud and big smile.
Just about time to fill it up. 80"s today.

You start a thread about vitamin D and calcium, and you end up in a livestock trough. Sigh.

PS : And a judicious amount of of VIT D SUPPLEMENTATION AND CALCIUM SUPPLEMENTATION in my other hand. (see above) Apologies for the hijack CG.

Oh, I was just joking with the sigh. I tried to tip it off by changing to "trough" from "watering tank".

It could be related, the tank could be outside, so when using it you could soak up some Vit "D", your Beer could even have your Vit "D" added in the can. Jim

Before you get in the cattle trough, lick the salt block. It contains a wealth of supplements, and the beer will taste more refreshing.

When our grandsons were small, I purchased a large, round watering trough, and they used it for a pool during the summer for a few years. It was deeper than the children's pools at Walmart, and was quite a bit cheaper.

I think something vital has been overlooked here and that is vitamin K. Without
the proper amount of vitamin K in your diet high the calcium will not be used
properly and may be deposited in tissues other than your teeth and bones . This
can especially cause a build up in your artery walls.

Very interesting...

It appears that the International Osteoporosis Foundation agrees.

https://www.iofbonehealth.org/iof-comme ... ementation

"International Osteoporosis Foundation states that vitamin D at recommended dosage reduces risk of falls and fractures; adequate calcium from food sources is necessary for healthy bones at all ages

The International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF) concurs with the United States Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF)1 which has stated that daily supplementation with doses of vitamin D ≤ 400 IU and calcium ≤ 1,000 mg has no net benefit for the primary prevention of fractures in non-institutionalized asymptomatic adults without previous history of fractures.

In contrast to the USPSTF, however, IOF finds that a higher dosage of vitamin D, specifically 800 IU per day, does reduce risk of fractures. One means by which vitamin D is effective is that it lowers risk of falling. Falling is a well recognized risk factor for fractures and other serious injuries 2,3,4..."

More precision is required here, as more than one form of vitamin K exists, and they have different uses: K1 addresses blood clotting and the like, K2 deals with the calcium going into the right place.

The sources for each are different.
