Philips hose

Post by reolhlains » Fri Apr 19, 2019 9:54 am

Hey all - I'm using the dreamstation.
I noticed a small hole in the tubbing, so ordered a new one on Amazon (while taping up the old one as a temporary fix).
My new hose has arrived - but it doesn't have the same connection into the machine (it is just like a rubber end rather than the actual connection I had into the electrical bit (which I presume is for heating it, but I never bothered using that).
I just connected the rubber bit into the machine - but I travel a lot and I am forever having to take it apart and reconnect - so would be easier if I could clip it in like the last hose.
My question - is the connection (on the hose end of my old hose) able to be removed and fitted onto the new hose, or do I need to order a new hose with the "heated tubing" option.
Cheeeeeers!

I also use Dreamstation. I believe it's only the heated tube that has the end that "clicks into" the machine (to make the connections for heat.) I started with an unheated tube, so I know the rubber connection you are referring to. I don't think it will be a problem taking it on & off repeatedly although I don't know if it will stretch after a period of time.

So, to answer your question, yes, you'll need to buy a heated hose if you like the snap-in connection.

There is a big difference between the standard hose and the heated hose. The standard hose can cost anywhere from $5 to $20 where the heated hose is specific to your machine and will cost about $40. You could get on of these connectors to make connecting and disconnecting the standard hose easier.

The only reason that there's a 'click on' connector is for the heating element.

Thanks all - that's what I was thinking and, yea, noted the price difference!
I'll see how it goes for a while - thanks again.
