Hi everyone, Sorry to vent, but....arghhhhhhh I just had a conversation with Apria. As a bit of history, I've was diagnosed in May 2012. Got a Resmed A9 AutoSet (with a few heated conversations with Apria). I use the machine roughly 8 hours a day and always have an AHI less than 3.
A few days ago my machine displayed "motor life exceeded, see service provider". I went to my ENT to get a new script. Had it sent to Apria, and followed up my "order" with a phone call. Was told I needed a new sleep study. What????? and also was told, I need a BiPap. WHAT???????
Long story short I called my insurance, complained what Apria is/tried to do and got a new DME. Fingers crossed. I asked my Doctor to FAX my script there.
GRRRRRRR
OMG Just shoot me....
OMG Just shoot me....

Good luck. Let us know if a new DME is any different. I tried switching and found out the new one was worse than the one I had, so stuck with the old one. I hear apria is one of the worst.

Make sure that your doctor didn't indicate bipap somewhere in the script.

Re: OMG Just shoot me....
I was in your situation in Feb. Same error message. I had to start over because this time I was on Medicare and wasn't before. New Sleep study and everything. Was on an Resmed S9 ASV before. (no auto pressure), and ended up with Resmed S10 Aircurve Auto (not ASV). After one month follow up we set up my pressure to change auto. Made a huge difference. Overall my pressure numbers are much lower and leaks are non-existent.
I like the S10 better. Even though the app is simplistic, it's nice to take a glance at your scores on your phone everyday.

Gee. I just stopped by my favorite Apria office yesterday.
The responded again the should have my new DreamWisp mask in about 6 weeks.
At least they still acknowledge the order is still pending and hasn't disappeared like my previous order.

Re: OMG Just shoot me....
well that was fast...
I spoke with a new DME (Premier Home Medical Equipment) and gave them my sleep study (from 2012) and the three sets of my ResMed and SleepyHead Reports for the past 1.5 years that I've collected them from my doctor. He FAXed my script to them and I got a call last evening from Premier that I can visit with their respiratory (CPAP) therapist. I have an appointment on Monday and she said they have the Resmed AirSense 10 Autoset in stock and I will take it home with me. So far so good.
The only curve ball was that with my last machine, I had to show three months compliance to "own" my machine. Not I have to rent to own (10 months) and it will send my data to the DME automatically. I am not worried as I always use my machine even if I take a nap.
I'll let you know about my experience with this DME. Can't be worse that the devil's triangle that is APRIA.

Re: OMG Just shoot me....
This is the model of payment that I'm under. I'm paying like $150/month for 10 months for it. Seems to me I could buy one myself for much cheaper, which is probably what I'll do next time. Or, maybe even a used one from LSAT. I have my original prescription too, so if I must, I'll buy a new one with that.Tino2You wrote: ↑Wed Apr 17, 2019 6:36 am
