Rumors?

Post by i_am_jim » Mon Apr 08, 2019 2:07 pm

When I got my ResMed Autoset 9 machine, ResMed came out with the Airsense 10 model 2-3 months later. My unit has failed and I must get a new one. But, the ResMed Airsense 10 Machine is now 5 years old and it would really chap me if, again, in a few months they come out with a new model and I'm again stuck for years with an older model, so my question is:

Has anyone heard rumors of a new ResMed Airsense Machine being released in the upcoming months?

Buy one now, so the rest of us can get the new improved model sooner. You do realize new products usually don't more benefits, but they will be made cheaper and fail quicker, and usually cost a little more. Jim

Haven't heard anything about new ResMeds.

Pick yourself up an inexpensive low hours Airsense 10 Auto on one of the buy / sell sites or from LSAT. Assuming new models are released every 5 years, that should last until the new line comes out. Then relegate it to backup / travel.

I'm not sure I'd want to be too early an adopter anyway. Let others be the be the guinea pigs, and Sleepy Head / OSCAR support it. Given how The ResMed airmen is not supported by non-ResMed software I'm not sure whatever comes next will be either.

You're not the first to inquire about that.

But, why don't you ask THEM?

What kind of problem did you have? You said it failed, but didn't elaborate as to how.

You could also contact the following company about what your problem:

https://acbio.com/

They're a certified repair facility for both ResMed and Philips/Respironics (and others) equipment.

Or, get a gently used machine from these folks:

Unfortunately, these rascals are quite good at keeping a secret.
Even from their "customers", the DMEs,
(who are often stuck with warehouses full of the previous model.)
When the next line is announced, there will be a wait for the newest bling.
It pays to invest in a gently used model that will uses all your existing accessories.
Then you can afford to wait for what you want, travel worry-free,
or even help someone out at a future date.
Secondwindcpap.com, is one suggestion.

I did ask them and
surprise
they claimed not to know. I didn't figure they would say because no one would buy after the announcement 'til the new model was available. The used one makes sense. I'll look into that.

Because a publicly traded company will not release any information about somethings as important as a new models, before an official press release.

They have an obligation to protect the interests of their share holders.

See this post: viewtopic/t175410/New-Almost-Airsense-1 ... -Sale.html

LSAT often offer low hour machines at a very reasonable price. If you do not have insurance, this is the way to go. If you are dealing with insurance, then contact your doctor for a new prescription.

I just checked with https://www.secondwindcpap.com/ and they charge half the price of a new unit. $370 is not my kind of tide me over for a few months deal.

I was stunned to see this sale on eBay:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/ResMed-AirSens ... 2647123470

I didn't think it was legal for individuals to sell used medical equipment.

BTW, as soon as the 10 was launched, I bought an extra S9 machine because they are so good. No regrets.

Well, they are wrong.
