PR Dream Wisp

Post by bwexler » Mon Apr 01, 2019 12:54 pm

Has anyone noticed the new Dream Wisp nasal mask.
I like my old Wisp and wonder if the Dream Wisp is even better.
My main concern as a side sleeper is weather the tubular mask frame would be uncomfortable to sleep on.

Anyone wondering about this new mask from Respironics

https://www.cpap.com/productpage/dreamw ... k-headgear

Brand new to the market and I got an email a couple of days ago about pre order status and was supposed to be available to ship today.

I haven't looked at it closely enough to see which parts are interchangeable with the other DreamWear products and I won't be testing this one out. I had a horrible experience with the original Wisp and have no interest in spending money on this mask so it won't be something I will be reporting on.

I sleep mostly on my side and the Dreamwear tubing is not uncomfortable to sleep on, so I wouldn't expect this to be either.

The dreamwear is a little loosey goosey and easy to dislodge (but also easy to reposition). I wonder if this will solve that problem?

Hopefully it won't cause pressure at the top of the nose. That's where I'd expect some discomfort.

Is this just a change of cushion or do we need different headgear too ? It looks intriging.

Edited : oops should have read more closely I see you don't know if its interchangeable.

While this wouldn't be the right product for me, I was interested in how the frame functioned. Then came the let down of seeing the frame sizing connectors being at the top so no using the nasal gels that I'm having great success with.

This mask is a redesign of the nasal Dreamwear. There are more straps. And a different cushion connection. Parts will not be interchangeable. Darn!

I remember using the original wisp for about three weeks and the fabric falling apart around the connection at the front of that mask where the clips were. The DME said it was my fault and wouldn’t replace it. I chunked it across the desk at the manger and walked out. Piece of crap! Love the cpap units though lol.
