Philips Respironics DreamStation

Post by jrprusak » Sun Mar 24, 2019 1:43 pm

Last night was woken up when my machine stopped. As I got up the machine was smoking and shorted out. Bottom of the device was burned and no longer usable. Anyone have this issue with the Dream Station?

If it's under warranty return it to DME

And, if it's not under warranty, contact:

https://acbio.com/

They're a licensed/authorized repair company for Philips/Respironics and ResMed (and other) equipment.

I had a Dreamstation for about four weeks. When I picked it up the RT said it needed to be plugged directly into the wall - not a power strip or extension cord - because of these kinds of problems (my interpretation). I don't know if this would apply to your situation.

i'm not saying you're wrong. but i've run mine off of a power strip with no problem.
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.

Like so many things that RT's say, this one is complete garbage, electrically speaking.

There is zero reason to not use a power strip,or even a surge protector.

I'm saying the RT is dead wrong.

I've had a Dreamstation for over a year - and that never happened! I do know the warranty is 2 yrs.

And mine is plugged into a power strip

Yes, I use a power stirip too. They told me not to, but I really never believed it anyhow.

Also, while I don't think that this is the problem, please make sure that no part of the unit (except the water chamber) is wet.

My Dream Station is displaying error messages (when you do a performance check). Also, the spring on the humidifier cover is not working, meaning that I have to slide it into place to complete the seal).
