I'm not sure, but I think this thread has wandered dangerously close to being "off topic"...

Hello,
All of this is new to me. I'm not even sure how to post. I can follow instructions (just couldn't find them).
I'd like to learn how to obtain detailed info about my sleep apnea via software I've seen on here. I currently get data via Dreammapper. I read an earlier post re: Sleepy Head app has to be on a desktop computer bc of data card. Where do I get a device for the card to connect to computer or can I just put machine next to computer for blue tooth connection?
I apologize and admit that I am clueless w/tech stuff. I'd really like to try and learn so that I can get the best usage from bipap machine and hopefully get my life back. I have central and obstructive sleep apnea along with narcolepsy, chronic pain, migraines, GERD, and more. I desperately need to get my life back. I believe getting sleep apnea under control is an important step.
I'm using Dream station w/Amara view mask. last apnea info: 43.6 AHI, total clear airway apneas 151, obstructive: 53, Total hypopneas 8, over 4.51 hrs.
Currently I sleep between 3-5 hrs at a time. I'll be awake for a couple of hours and then fall back to sleep (w/out machine during day), make dinner clean up, fall back asleep, etc.
My neurologist is thinking I may just need to be on oxygen. I think that might work better bc I can easily put that on and use it more.
My last 2 sleep studies showed little to no REM sleep.
I have issues with pain and meds that keep me from reaching deep sleep (working on changing this).
I wrote this more than a wk ago, w/no reply. Since then my AHI
Thank you in advance for your time and assistance.Image

Welcome to the forum.

Couple of things...can you start a new topic with your questions and issues please...just click on the "Post a new topic" orange button at the top above the Announcements section. You are going to need some special help and it is confusing to have 2 people getting help in one thread. Let's have a thread devoted just to you and your needs.

Read the sticky at the top of the Announcements section...it will tell you about the software so you can see the data your machine gathers in more detail.
Your AHI is way too high and unless you are spending a lot of time awake using the machine...there might be a significant problem going on. We need more details to have any idea how to help you.

If your computer has a slot for a SD card you don't need anything else...if your computer doesn't have a slot for a SD card then you need a cheap adapter/card reader so that you can plug into one of the USB port on your computer.

No worries about the off topic derailments. A good laugh is always welcome if one were to ask me.

Curious about interpretation of last night's data. I read a book with the mask/machine running until 10PM - ish, then all hell broke loose until I got out of bed just after midnight. After midnight, seemed like things settled. The leaks after 11PM are pretty much me being a weirdo and laying on my side vs. my normal back sleeping.

Any thoughts on what's going on? I understand the screen cap is only 2 minutes, but it's consistent with the remaining CA events before midnight.

Well, I can tell you what happened basically, technically.. but no idea *why* it happened, and that's the important/interesting part.

You likely got into a situation where your respiratory drive was a little depressed, not enough CO2 in your blood to keep your lungs going full time... but, why? I don't know.

Fascinating. This is really interesting. Hypocapnia is the body’s method for countering hyperventilation.
