Question on Dreamwear full face mask

Post by mets123 » Thu Feb 14, 2019 10:40 pm

Should the area of the dreamwear full face mask where the hose is attached on the top of the head move around as you toss from side to side?
It seems to me if it shouldn’t move I have to really tighten the upper straps.
Thanks

If you mean "should the headgear shift" as you move around, I would say no. Yes the swivel and hose will move. But unless you have a hose that gets held by a pillow, edge of bed, or whatever, the headgear should stay more or less in place.

I suspect the headgear you are using is one size too large?

Yes real Shelby it is the headgear that shifts as I move around from side to side . I believe this mask has only one headgear size. I have tried the small size frame but it is too small.
If anyone else has an idea it would be appreciated.

When one size frame is too small and the next size is too big. Try adding some fleece wraps to the bigger frame.
That's what I had to do to get any sort of stability with the DreamWear Full Face mask and the small frame was just a little too big.
I couldn't fix the frame size problem with headgear adjustments no matter how much I tried.
Once I added some fleece wraps the movement became markedly reduced.

I use that mask and it swivels. However, I have found that my therapy works much better if I lie on my side that faces the machine all night. I make a cocoon of pillows to prevent me from turning on my back.

I said headgear, but should have said "frame"!

While I don't feel the frame move much, I do feel the nose cushion move when the side of your head is on a pillow. That can shift the nose cushion and cause less air into one of the nostrils. My main complaint about that mask.

Beaver Boy when you say it swivels are you referring to the area near where the hose is connected (which is normal ) I am referring to the top of the headgear which includes the hose. Sorry if not being clear but I am referring to the entire upper area and wondering if it should move around as I turn from side to side. It seems for it not to move around I have to tighten the upper straps pretty tight.
Hopefully I explained myself better this time. As an aside I used this mask last night with a mask liner thought I slept well. Woke up this morning with red angry face which says I had major leaks. Wasn’t aware of them at all.

I tried the mask liners with the Dreamwear Full Face and my leaks were worse also.
