I have one. It says "for her" in tiny writing you have to squint to read. It has a few decals of leaves, that's all. You can put a sticker over "for her" if you want.
Get it and don't look back. It's not going to turn black and fall off.
I'm trying to get mine paid for before it drops off the OHIP list.

Re: Question regarding diagnosis and Airsense 10 Auto FOR HER
Thanks everyone for the replies!
- LOL @ AutoSet for HEROS - hilarious!
- Thanks for the info regarding the nasal pillows - I guess I was misinformed or misread that somewhere.
- And thanks for all the advice on just jumping on the for her model - definitely am taking that route, just waiting on confirmation from insurance before I buy it
-------
Now, I thought I'd share my experiences from my first night with the trial machine
- I was provided with a tester Airsense 10 Autoset for her - they had one available for trials
- I chose the N30i nasal mask
- I left it with the default settings the clinic set it to - 5-15 pressure, humidity I believe was 4, ramp set to auto starting at 4, and do not remember every other setting (it's at home so I can't check right now)
- I set it up and used it all night
- First thing I noticed, was the nasal mask was quite comfortable. Sure, it will take some getting used to, but I don't really have much complaints about how it sits, being my first ever mask/cpap/apap experience.
- When it was getting started on the ramp, it was something new to me and tough to get used to. I felt I had to match my breathing with the way the machine pushed the air. I found myself inhaling more air than I normally would (longer deeper inhales). And on the exhale, it definitely was not as comfortable as I had hoped. It seemed tough to exhale but maybe just something I need to get used to. I saw on a youtube video this morning that there's a setting that can be adjusted for this, and maybe it's set to OFF so I'll check on that at home
- Because of the adjustment to breathing, it took me a good while to fall asleep - much longer than usual. I think it must have been a good 1.5 hours before I fell asleep, where I can typically fall asleep in 30 minutes max
- Once I was asleep, I woke up a few times to turn on my side - no noticeable issues with the mask - I turned to my side and on my back maybe twice each through the night (MUCH LESS THAN USUAL)
- No issues keeping my mouth shut really, though it was quite funny when I opened my mouth while falling asleep since I felt the air gush out of my mouth - just a newbie experience I guess
- The wife said she did not hear me snore EVEN ONCE. Normally, it's VERY REGULAR, and VERY LOUD.
- The sound of the air is something I'll need to get used to for sure
As for results the morning after:
- Note, my sleep clinic assessment was 39 AHI - not super high, but still falls in severe.
- I have not hooked up sleepyhead (not sure if I should with the trial machine, but maybe I'll download it tonight and try it out)
- Based on the screen of the machine (screenshots posted) I had 5.5 events per hour (!!!!!!!) This was on my first night, and I was pretty happy to see that
- No real scores for the mask seal or humidifier, but both had a smiley face
- I adjusted the detailed summary to be set to 1 day, so I think that sets it to just last night, and notables were: 9.2 pressure, 19L/min leak, 5.5 AHI
- I downloaded the myAir app this morning and created an account, but the app says data is not available for last night yet - I assume this is because I set it up after my nights sleep, so hopefully it pulls data for tonight at least
- Only used about half the water in the tank. I'll probably put a full load again tonight, and if it seems the same, I'll put a bit less moving forward
Overall, I felt awake this morning. I'm not going to say I felt super energized and changed, but it was different. I didn't snooze my alarm once, and was awake after the first. My eyes took some time to wake up, but my body felt awake and ready. No sleepiness so far, but it's only been about 5 hours since I got up and got to work.
But yeah, pretty happy so far. Cleaning the tank was simple in the morning too, easier than I expected. I need to find a safe/clean place to put my mask away through the day, since I have a cat, and don't want cat hair getting anywhere near it.
I will try the mask for a few more days, and maybe try out something else. But kind of happy thus far so not sure if I really even need to try anything else

Re: Question regarding diagnosis and Airsense 10 Auto FOR HER
EPR is the exhale pressure relief setting so that the pressure drops during exhale and makes it easier to exhale.
The problem with using the ramp setting is that the ramp starts the pressure at 4 cm and it can't go any lower than that and even if you had EPR set to 3 which is a 3 cm drop...the machine can't drop the pressure during exhale because it has no where to go.
Download and read up on the various options available to you.
https://www.respshop.com/manuals/ResMed ... %20her.pdf
It's a combo manual but the basics about ramp and EPR are the same no matter which model is being used.
I know it sounds weird but exhaling with the pressure set to 6 on inhale and 4 on exhale will be easier than trying to fight straight 4 cm.
Turn the ramp off. You shouldn't need it with the starting minimum of 5 cm anyway. Heck...my titration study started with 5 cm right off the bat and it wasn't all that difficult.
Wear the mask with machine on while reading or watching TV and try to forget that you are breathing with a machine....when you over think it that's when you start fighting it and thinking you have to match the machine's rhythm.
