DME experience, you might be surprised

Post by LikwidFlux » Tue Nov 21, 2006 2:05 pm

Ok, so I have Cigna until January 1st and as many of you know with Cigna you are FORCED into using Apria for all CPAP supplies. This doesn't really give Apria any reason to treat you like, I don't know, a human being.

I am switching to Medical Mutual in January so I called around, I found a great DME supplier in my area (and I think they are nationwide) called Seely Medical. They told me they'd give me the machine until January free of charge and then start billing my insurance when it switches over!

Alright, so I finally got my Remstar Auto M Series with Cflex, and a DME supplier I can actually get on the phone and talk to someone. They even have a RT available 24/7.

I'll let everyone know how it works out in the long run, but jeez, it's about time companies learned the meaning of "Customer Service".

If it's SeelEy Medical (Note the E at the end) they are GREAT folks.

I've worked with them on a number of occasions and have nothing but good things to say about them and about Brian Seeley who is the President of the company.

They are regional in Florida.

There is also a Seely Medical (without the E) that I've dealt with once or twice but know little about.

It is Seeley with the lower case e.

Either way, I'm glad someone else has had a good DME experience.

Hard to find, but they do exists. My first DME was terrible. They even showed up at my house one night at 11:00pm because the rep was working another job and couldn't get off until then. It was so bad I wrote my doctor a letter about them and he dropped using them.

However, my new DME, a place called Home Care Medical(WI), has been great. They recently got me a sales sample of the hybrid for me to keep if I share my experience/comments/troubles/solutions with them. What a deal! The rep said they are kind of expensive, but now now he has one more bullet in his amunition to help problem patients.

I just spoke to my DME today to update them on the mask, and we got into a conversation of cpap vs apap. He can't understand why apap isn't the norm for most prescriptions. He even offered to call my Doc and help me fight for an apap. They also have 24 respiratory service.

I can't imagine settling for less anymore.

Seeley Medical is a regional DME serving NE Ohio. Later generations started Dasco in Columbus, OH and other branches in Cinci and FL.
