I don't understand these people that know they will be using this machine for the rest of their life and yet they refuse to learn the basics on how it operates.

Do I live in the United States? Yes, actually I am just a poor old man that lives in Oklahoma.

Am I ignorant? Yes, I probably am. I have seven college degrees but I am pretty much ignorant when it comes to computers. I have really studied Windows 7, but still have a lot of problems with it. I don't know what "Sleepyhead'' is but I did try to load it on my computer. All I got was a bunch of games. Oh, did I mention that I am 73 years old and have a broken back. But I still think that life is good.

Thank you

You probably didn't go to the official SleepyHead download website if you got a bunch of games.

https://sleepyhead.jedimark.net/

There is no junk at this link to click on by mistake.

Am I in the United States? - Well, yes, I am. As a matter of fact, I am from Oklahoma.

AM I ignorant? - Well, yes, I probably am. I am not very computer literate. I don't know what "Sleepyhead" is, but I did try to load it on my computer. All I got was a bunch of games. How do I uninstall it? And I have never had a problem with my breathing machine before. You know - if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I guess the best thing is for me to go back to basics and start at the beginning.

Basically, I know nothing. Can someone define all the acronyms that are being used? I have never had a problem sleeping until I received this new machine, and now I just don't sleep. What I have found out is that the new machines are built with a water resevoir to last no more than 8 hours. This is just the way they are made. So when my water dries up after 6 hours, that is what they are suppose to do. That does nit make any sense to me.

It would be easier if you just asked about what isn't clear to you, instead of requesting an open ended explanation of *EVERYTHING*.

believe me, none of us was born knowing this stuff! and yes, we can tend to get rather "clubby" here with acronyms. may i suggest you start out by reading the ANNOUNCEMENTS section above the forum posts? it's right under the Post a New Topic banner. there are many "sticky" posts there and they can help you get started on finding out what the heck these stupid initials are all about!

and don't hesitate to speak up and ask when someone uses a term or acronym you don't understand. it won't take long before you know more than you thought possible about sleep apnea!!

good luck.
