Which machine is best? I was an auto for sure. Looking at some on Craigslist!

Hi!

I was originally using an S8 auto (without EPR), which was absolutely terrible (AHI of 4 to 6), then switched to a DreamStation auto for about 18 months (AHI of 1.5 to 2.5 most nights). The difference between the S8 and DreamStation was incredible and I found I instantly got a much improved night's sleep.

April 2018 I was issued with an S9 auto for a week's trial by my local hospital. I was initially going to take it back after the first night's use, but then after the second night's sleep, I woke up and the improvement was a similar leap as I had experienced going from the S8 to DreamStation.

I find breathing with the S9 to be far more natural and less "robotic" than the DreamStation. My AHI was (up until recently) between 0.1 and 0.9, with the lower end of the scale being the norm, and I made a noticeable improvement in my mood and energy overall. That's recently taken a nosedive, but its got nothing to do with the machine.

I'm now waiting to pick up a ResMed A10, although have to wait until March to get it. I didn't think I'd be excited about getting a new CPAP, but I am. I doubt the gain's will be as impressive as moving between my previous machines, as the S9 is so good, but I'm still hoping to see some improvement, whether that be in comfort or reduction of outstanding symptoms.

There's no such thing as a 's10' cpap.

Here's a listing of machines:
wiki/index.php/CPAP_models

You must have full data, you really want an Auto, and preferably, a Resmed.

Best is the Resmed S9 VPAP Auto, or Resmed AirCurve 10 VAuto for bilevels, or the Resmed S9 Autoset or Resmed AirSense 10 AutoSet (or slightly better) Resmed AirSense 10 AutoSet For Her

Accounts to put on the foe list: dataq1, clownbell, gearchange, lynninnj, mper!?, DreamDiver, Geer1, almostadoctor, sleepgeek, ajack, stom, mogy, D.H., They often post misleading, timewasting stuff.

Here’s the page with the ones I’m looking at. Need to know what’s the best to use with sleepyhead.

The link you posted immediately above only has one machine. It is listed as an "s10 auto".

An A10 AutoSet with low hours and humidifier from a clean home for $200 is a good deal.

Make sure to get an Auto. Know how to check the run hours and check them!

Looks like it says "autoset" on the front in the second picture.

Grab it, but verify it doesn't stink, and actually has low hours.

Here's the clinical manual: https://www.respshop.com/manuals/ResMed ... %20her.pdf

I bought the S9. Used Sleepyhead after 4 hours a sleep and AHI was 4.6. I’m gonna toy with it and with y’all help get her dialed in. Breathing is so easy with this machine. Do all of y’all use the humidifier? I don’t like em.

Please figure out what you have, based on the chart above, and update your profile.

No, not everyone likes the humidifier.

I don’t see a Resmed S9 AutoSet as a machine option.

Tell me how I can change the chart so it's more clear that you need to put the machine in the comments.

I see you did end up doing it, but I'd like to make the chart more clear if possible.

The software doesn't seem to give an option for discontinued machines. So, type it in "Additional Comments" field. https://www.cpaptalk.com/ucp.php?i=ucp_ ... pment_info

Nope. Don't like them. Horrible in summer, unnecessary in winter. If the inside of your nostrils gets too dry at night, you might like it.
