Power outage - machine now says service required

Post by acravey » Thu Nov 29, 2018 12:40 pm

I am wondering if this situation has happened to anyone? We had a power outage last night and when the power turned back on, my machine began beeping and then displayed a 'service required' message. I have tried unplugging and rebooting but when it turns on I get the beeping and the same message. It also does not seem to have recorded any of my information from last night's usage. The power outage was at 3:30 am so I had been using the machine for a good portion of the night. I couldn't fall back to sleep for worrying that a surge had fried my machine or that it will take days to fix. Waiting to hear back from provider but they are not always reliably quick.

Thanks,

-AC- A newbie here but I have been using my machine for 5 months now.

You have already tried everything that I would have suggested to try.

Sounds like maybe a power surge fried something inside. Keep bugging the DME place where you got your equipment.
They should have a loaner available while the issues with your machine get sorted out.
Be that extremely squeaky wheel.

Where are you located? Maybe one of the forum members lives near you and can help you out if your DME doesn't get back to you quickly.

Thanks. They did get back to me and surprisingly are getting me a new machine today! I am shocked and relieved. The tech that I talked to said that if nothing I did worked that something has gone wrong with the machine. This I think will have me exploring the surge protector posts so that I can protect the machine in the future.

Yes...do invest in a surge protector and get a good one.
I have 3...one for my cpap machine...one for my big screen TV and one for my laptop computer.
