I've been using the Dreamwear with gel pillows for quite some time, but the venting noise has always been a big problem for me. I've tried to solve it by wearing foam earplugs, which work some of the time, but they often fall out during the course of the night waking me up prematurely. Plus, it's uncomfortable enough with something plugging up both your nose and ears.
I recently looked up the F&P Brevida and the Respironics Nuance and was wondering if the venting sound would be quieter on either of those than with the Dreamwear? I'm guessing that the Brevida might be quieter with the diffuser.
I should also mention that I've used the AirFit P10 and found the design of those nasal pillows to be uncomfortable inside my nostrils. Do you think I would have a similar issue with the Brivida?
What do you think?
Is F&P Brevida or Nuance quieter than Dreamwear?

Be sure the pillow is not going inside your nostril...Just the tips should be at the opening with the collar resting outside your nose.DigDugSlug wrote: ↑Sun Nov 11, 2018 1:04 amI've been using the Dreamwear with gel pillows for quite some time, but the venting noise has always been a big problem for me. Re: Is F&P Brevida or Nuance quieter than Dreamwear?
I have experience will all those masks you have mentioned because I have tried them.
The Respironics masks...the Nuance and the DreamWear gel pillows venting noise is going to be about the same. A bit noisy compared to the P10 and Brevida because the vent holes are the old way of doing venting. Just a hole (or 2 in the case of the DreamWear) for the air to escape and it escapes with some force behind it.
The Brevida has the diffused venting (it's accomplished by adding a little diffuser over the vent holes) like the P10.
If you liked the P10 diffused venting because of the reduced noise then you will probably be happy with the Brevida diffused venting.
It's pretty much as silent as the P10.
The Brevida pillow cushion material is softer than the P10 pillows...give it a try if you don't like the way the P10 feels.
It does feel substantially different in that regard.
With any nasal pillow mask...they rest gently on the outer nostril area. The only thing that actually goes in the nose is the tiny tip of the cone and it shouldn't be touching anywhere inside the nose. If it is...things are too tight or the nasal pillow is too small.

The very quietest mask I have ever worn was the Sleepweaver elan.
It took me awhile to find the vent holes.
