New to pap: mask question

Post by babydinosnoreless » Mon Nov 05, 2018 3:13 pm

Wish i had found you all last year when I had my sleep study. I have so many questions but Since I am technology challanged I will start out with an easy one that doesn't need me to post data or graphs and stuff.

I wear the dreamwear ff mask. It leaks but according to my useless dme provider its in acceptable levels. Well I can't sleep and it makes this old lady cranky so its not acceptable to me. It makes horrible tooting noises. They have expensive liners $30 for 4 which would be fine if I could use for 8 days. But after 2 days eww gross. Are there any liners for the dreamwear ff masked that can be tossed daily?

hi! and welcome to the zoo.

i'm a bit confused as i don't wear mask liners myself. but aren't they made from cloth and thus, couldn't they be laundered and reused?

also, you may want to check with https://www.padacheek.com/ to see if they have something more suitable.

finally, you may want to google "apena mask fitting videos" and see if you can get some tips for properly fitting your mask.

good luck!

Disposable...but pricey

or make a bunch yourself out of an old T shirt and wash as needed.

Hi

Thank you all for the suggestions. These stick on with some kind of adhesive that would be gone in the wash. They say disposable use for 6-8 days. They are also very thin more like medical bandages than cloth that could be washed.

The facemask is a hybrid that goes under the nose so Thanks for the link but I don't think it would work with the dreamwear.

You say make out of an old tshirt. If I cut it out of an old t-shirt how would I attach it to my mask? Is there somewhere I can buy the sticky stuff that won't perminately bond and ruin the mask ?

You can also make your own masks for the DreamWear FFM. I have made them, and have passed the pattern on to others that asked for it. If you are interested in making your own liners, send me a PM (Private Message) with your regular email address, and I will send you the pattern I used to make mine with.
