New machine, new DME and Dr - help please

Post by seenas » Fri Oct 19, 2018 4:43 am

Hi, I am a senior (old as dirt). After 7 years my Respironic (Remstar ( the tank) Auto CPAP finally died.since I am now on Medicare I had to go through a new physician and DME because my doctor retired and the DME closed. Previously it was discovered that I could not sleep with a regular CPAP and needed the auto set to 7 - 17. I went to a new physician and had a sleep study done. I was told I needed a pressure of 14 and after several calls between new DME and physicians office I was given a prescription for a auto CPAP range of 5 -20. I found this questionable but figured with the auto CPAP it should be okay until I Returned to see the physician. I received a Dreamstation auto CPAP. I was told I could monitor directly my AHI from the machine as well as able to use the dream mapper App. I am currently unable to access my AHI on this machine and the APP will not connect. The DME tell me my pressure is ranging from 5 to 5.0 through remote access. When the sleep study was done I had to come in for a second day to be assessed on a CPAP maachine and I had my first decent sleep in months. It doesn’t make sense to me that this new machine is staying at the pressure of 5 and I am exhausted when I wake up. Please note when I used to monitor my self it averaged from 8 - 14 with a AHI around 1.8 - 2.2. I am in the process of getting a copy of my sleep study. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure your machine has an SD card in it, then use sleepyhead to monitor your settings.

Go here https://www.apneaboard.com/adjust-cpap- ... tup-manual and request the clinician manual for your machine from the clinician manual you can enable AHI to display on the machine and also check the settings
