If flu season here is too long, our doctor may have us stuck again.
That's interesting (See my post above about Gramps doing it twice.). Has your doc done it twice in a previous year?

i'll get my advice from my doctor that told me to get it last week.
I have a dental hygienist appointment next week. My doc's office is on the route home from the dentist. I plan to get the shot then.
You can have it done twice, but the 2nd is out of pocket. A few years ago, they had a tri-valent and a couple of months later there was a quad-valent and some folks chose to get the 2nd one as well. Had to pay for it.
greatunclebill, docs want you to get it when they can get it into you in order to be sure that you actually get it. The one doc told me that yes, there is probably a prime 2 week period, but having everybody get it during that period alone is not feasible.
Also, I completely agree that "the recent Shingrix shot was not a contraindication for flu shot." However, I got so darned sick from the first shot and much minor, but annoying flu-like symptoms for 6 days from the second, the pharmacist suggested waiting 2 weeks. Only 1 in 6 get that reaction and it seems to be more common in those under 65 (according to pharmacist).
