Airfit P10 XS Cushions breaking down
Hi All,
Is anyone else having problems with their Airfit P10 XS cushions breaking down in 2-10 days?
TO be clear, I am compliant in cleaning AND even purchased and use a nasal lavage when necessary.
How many people use the XS cushions?
Thanks,
Dany

I use P10 large cushions and over four or five years have never had problems with them breaking down quickly. Never have used a lavage. Wash mine with Dawn. If my nose is stuffy I sometime used a Breathrite strip.

Most of the time in the past when I've heard someone complaining about that, what's happened is that they've accidentally poked the inner cones inward, so there's no structural support anymore. squeezing them along the long dimension of the oval cone structure will pop the cones back out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MylY6a6KXMY&t=1m27sDanyWantsToSleep wrote: ↑Sun Sep 16, 2018 6:29 pmHi All,

Yes, I have had the same thing recently. The Airfit P10 pillows (Large) have been breaking down recently after only 3 weeks of wear and washing in Dawn Liquid and washing my face every night. I bought these mask pillows from a supply house that does not say RESMED on the bag. Instead they are bagged in little zip-lock bags, and I believe that they are 2nd's (not used, but seconds that the company could not use). I have used 4 Airfit P10 pillows over the past 3 months because of breakdown. I think, in my case, it is because of where I purchased them online.

@palerider, Rarely do the nasal cushions invert for me. That is not my issue. Thank you, though.

Are you saying that your one cushion is lasting up to 3 weeks? Or you have had several break down within a 3 week period?
The VA and several European countries say they should last up to 6 months. One cushion! My insurance allows for 2 a month and most medical suppliers suggest mainly for sanitary/health reasons to change them out more frequently.

That's possible, but I also noticed that my P10 pillows always lasted longer if I wiped them daily but only cleaned them with Dawn once a week.Luthie2006 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 17, 2018 3:55 pmYes, I have had the same thing recently. Daily wiping, as early as possible in the morning, has been beneficial to every mask cushion that I have tried.
I recommend unscented CPAP wipes, but my wife has told me that breast pump wipes will also work if you happen to have those lying around.
You want something that is gentle to both the equipment and your skin.

Medical suppliers make money when you replace them...They would be happy if you changed them every week. Never believe a Medical Supplier.DanyWantsToSleep wrote: ↑Fri Feb 01, 2019 10:26 amAre you saying that your one cushion is lasting up to 3 weeks?
