Re: Advice for next path
Both Tuesday and Wednesday night are almost identical, not gonna post them both.
I did remember to stop/start the machine when I woke up....I don't recall waking up in the middle of the night, but my resp rates do look similar to my awake breathing there, if anyone is interested.
Here's last nights. Right now if I'm looking at it right, I should lower the pressure to 8, and EPR to 2, and see if the pressure stays stable

Re: Advice for next path
If that was my graph I would not change anything. There is nothing your machine can do about the CA's how do you feel ? When you have a follow-up with your sleep Dr discuss the CA's but I expect them to say leave it for up to 3 months to see if they reduce over time
You could try reducing the EPR from 3 to 2 to see if that reduces the CA's

You can try *lowering* your EPR setting. you may be one of the people for whom even the little extra ventilation that EPR provides, is too much, and causes you to have some centrals.
That said, yours aren't at a worrying level.

Another thing to consider--sleep position.
Sleeping on the left side works for me,
because of the way the internal tubing is laid out.
It keeps the bubbles on top, where they are less likely to get trapped.

Re: Advice for next path
I would see how 8 cm minimum does...maybe even 7 cm. I like to use as low a minimum as possible and still get the job done especially when dealing with the potential for the aerophagia monster to come calling.
The centrals....were you pretty much sound asleep all night or are you still having a lot of wake ups...and are they still present if you use 8 cm minimum?
If you are sound asleep...at some point let's consider playing with EPR carefully...but there's no urgent need to worry about the centrals at this time. There's enough of them (if you are asleep) that we keep an eye on them but not worry excessively.
If you are still having very many wake ups or arousals they might be nothing more than some SWJ post arousal centrals and we worry more about the arousals and their cause than the centrals. You gotta be asleep for anything to be worth worrying about.

Re: Advice for next path
I lowered to 8cm and 2 EPR last night, I *feel* better than wednesday night. No graph until this afternoon, will update then.
As for Wednesday night- I actually don't remember waking up, but I'm a pretty restless sleeper according to my wife. Honestly not sure if that's changed since getting the hose. I'll ask her to pay attention once I've got the machine dialed in to where I'll leave it for a few weeks. (She goes to work later than I do, so she's in bed later). I feel decent, maybe a small improvement over the Icon at 4-20 so far, while a major improvement overall from no hose so it's kinda hard to tell.
As for the sleep Dr- I was prescribed the machine through a GP who got the sleep study equipment through a sleep dr, then sent the results to him for analysis and read off the results to me. Small town wait times are ridiculous for any medical services here and I won't use my precious vacation time to be told something I can figure out on my own (with your help). I don't get enough vacation to be chasing smoke.
It's kinda hard to not be OCD about this- my job is QA/QC, data analysis, Lab equipment repair/install....now that I've got SH I have it open on my PC at home 24/7 haha.
Thanks a lot for the help, I already feel better and wouldn't be here without the forums.

Re: Advice for next path
Been busy and away from home for a few days, was messing with settings anyways.
8 minimum with 2 EPR, good but still some centrals
8minimum with 1 EPR, way too much aerophagia
7.6 minimum with 2 EPR, MONEY.
Getting a little rainout so I'm gonna run with these settings and a little less moisture for a few weeks and see where it all averages out at.
Thanks for the help, I'll check in later

Yep, now stay there for awhile and see if you can get similar results consistently.

Re: Advice for next path
So I decided to update a little early here. The low AHI was an abnormal night apparently- Since then I've averaged 4-5 AHI with nearly all of them CA (graphs are all similar to the first I posted on the new machine at 5.47 AHI).
Still no noticeable aerophagia, been using these settings for 12 days now.
Funny though- I was woken up by violent hiccups around 12am 2 nights ago, and had the hiccups regularly until last night (hot tea & Honey finally cleared it up) I was worried about the CPAP somehow exacerbating the hiccups, so I tried to sleep without the hose last night. Wow! It was the first night in 3 months I've slept through the night, and I feel like crap! Even waking up every 2-3 hours on the hose is better than a full night without it- Note taken. Still no hiccups though today *knocks on wood*
So I'm gonna mess with settings again.....I'm thinking lower min and lower EPR, slightly. I think I can do 5.5cm without getting aerophagia (for now, once I'm used to it maybe higher) So I'll try lowering the pressure to 7 and 2 epr(to check out graphs), then 6.5 and 1 EPR to see if I can keep the aerophagia AND Centrals down.
The night to night difference between 10 and 5 is nuts, so the difference between 5 and 1 should be.....nutty?
