SD for S9
Several years ago I bought a S9 from Cpap.com. Recently, I started with a new sleep doctor and they wanted to see the sd card for review. I was told there was no data on the card. I asked them to double check that and again was told no data and the card and was shown a photo of their computer screen which told them to call Resmed at 1-800----. They said, here is the number, we can;t do anything more. I said okay -- went home and stuck the card into a sd reader on my pc and found 30 days of files in the folder DATALOG. Then called the number that dr insisted I should call and was told by Resmed that they could not support me and the Dr must call. So please tell me what I should do! Find a dr with smarter staff?

More info -- now when I put the card back in the unit -- it says "invalid sd card" Erase Y or N
I copied the card to my pc and went ahead with the erase and now the card is empty and it will continue with the error message each time it is inserted in cpap unit.
Sleepyhead won't read the data either

Re: SD for S9
The free Sleepyhead software from can likely read the card. They warn you need to write protect the card before using on Windows if you have S9 because Windows writes files to the card & the S9 then rejects the card,'
Perhaps there is a way to remover the additional files to the S9 is "happy" again.
EDIT apparently this is how to stop it from happening.

I expect after that you could delete the offending folders mentioned.

Re: SD for S9
So first of all tell us exactly which model S9 we are talking about...complete full model name is clearly shown on the face of the machine.
If you can't tell...then look on a sticker on the bottom for REF and a number following REF...tell us that number.
Secondly...what is the operating system on your computer? Some operating systems Windows 8.xxx and higher and some Macs will put a little text file onto the SD card and the S9 doesn't like that little text file being there.
You probably copied that little file when you put the SD card contents onto your Desktop and each time you put it back on the SD card that file goes back on the card.
There is a way to manually remove that file from the SD card and then the S9 won't bitch about it.
This is for Windows.
rmdir "System Volume Information" /s /q
at the contents of the SD card window hold down the shift key and right click mouse...and choose Open command window and paste the above in the black window.

You could just go to Walmart, Best Buy etc and get a new card.

Re: SD for S9
You need to remove that file on the SD card (and your desktop copy) so that the S9 will accept the SD card if you want to use those files and get the detailed data available.
In the future you need to write protect/lock your SD card before you put it into your computer or Windows will stick that little text file right back on the SD card and the S9 won't like it. The S9 is the only machine that it matters about that little text file.
Alternately you can go buy a new blank SD card and put it in your S9 machine....it will write the data that is stored in its internal memory to the SD card but all that is stored is the summary data....AHI, leak, event category breakdown, pressure and hours used.
If you understood those directions for removing that file using DOS commands...it's not hard to do. I got quite handy at doing it because for years when I used the S9 model my computer was Windows 7 and it didn't matter so I never got in the habit of write protecting the SD card. Most of the time the "oh crap" moment came about a second after I would slide the card into the computer and not lock it so I got quite good at removing that file.

Re: SD for S9
I followed the directions (and i'm decently tech savvy) but it seems to be no use. Now after the S9 finishes with the card, the PC says - not accessible - corrupted or unreadable. When I "fix" it on the PC, the S9 wants to format the card again.
Re: SD for S9
If you backed up your *entire* SD card on the 'puter, then you can import that into sleepyhead, just point the SH importer to the directory you put the sd card contents into.

Re: SD for S9
I can't explain it -- but got the new sd card -- inserted into the S9 -- then pc -- copied old datalog folder over to new card -- now exports into sleepyhead - can be read on pc and S9. I not sure how much of that sleepyhead info I understand but at least the card is working properly -- THANKS SO MUCH for everyone's help and suggestions!
