Given that virtually all manufacturers of any product in any category of any industry looks carefully and diligently for add-on products and/or services to increase their sales and profits - why are there no ResMed "CleanItZone" or Respironics "Ozone2U"? Maybe (probably) because they wouldn't work and would be more trouble than they would be worth.
This is a very good point... Yet another good reason why this product is unnecessary.

Absolutely! It is almost too obvious!

A very good point, Respironics LOVES to sell 'add ons' to their stuff... like the prs160 series..

"It's heated hose capable! Oh, you want a heated hose? you have to buy a new humidifier lid, and a different power supply... (all included with resmed s9)

OH you want to TRAVEL? Well, here, we sell this nice padded travel bag for your machine.. (also included with resmed).

So you KNOW that if there was anything other than hokum with soclean, respironics would slap their label on it "OH! YOU want to clean your machine? here, we sell this...."

Does anyone have this machine is it worth it??
It doesn't CLEAN the equipment. YOU have to do that yourself before you use it.
So, their advertising is very deceptive at the very least.
Plus, you also have to purchase other replacement parts for the machine about every 6 months.
Like others have said, it "cleans" your bank account/wallet.

From their own manual:

1. Pre-washing your Equipment
Use two capfuls of the included pre-wash
with a gallon of water to wash your CPAP
equipment (mask, hose, and reservoir), then
rinse thoroughly with clean water.
Note:
The SoClean 2 Go uses no fluids in
its operation. The pre-wash is supplied for
hand washing your CPAP equipment only.

I can see that this a "hotly contested" debate and I am in the minority! I purchased my SoClean 2 about a year ago and I LOVE IT! My insurance did not pay a penny...it all came from my bank account! I love the clean smell after using the cleaner and instead of 3 sinus infections (average per year) I haven't had a single illness since I started using it daily. I'm a very satisfied customer! :D

That "clean smell" is ozone, the same thing that the EPA warns people to stay inside to avoid during hot days in the city.

Google up some information on what it does to lungs.

Well, maybe the ozone has affected your brain...

I get less head colds and sinus infections since starting CPAP...

The reason that ozone is associated with rain is that it is produced by lightning.
Unfortunately, ozone is rarely good/safe until it floats into the upper atmosphere,
where it helps filter harmful UV from the sun's rays.
Breathe/use it if you like, but you have been warned . . .

I used to have two or three colds every year. Since I started using CPAP, I have a cold about every three or four years.

CPAP is what makes us healthier. SoClean is for the poorly informed. It's a scam. Check out the business background of the founder.

It really isn't "hotly contested". I see a whole bunch of knowledgeable folks all saying the same thing. Scam.

And I'm making a mental note to never comment in a soclean thread again. At least I just found the "Unsubscribe" just now. :)

I knew I would get "put down" when I posted my success story with using SoClean 2! Seems like you all consider yourselves to be "experts" in the field of medicine! Get a life and quit harassing the new users! Grow up folks! Respect others even if you have differences of opinions! Glad none of you are on my pulmonary support team!
