I set the hose temperature to 78 degrees. Humidity to Auto. I do not like very warm air. One last question: With the heated hose connected did the machine automatically adjust to the smaller hose diameter?

Yep. It recognizes the heated hose and makes the adjustment internally for diameter.
Don't panic if you unplug the heated hose and look at the hose diameter choice and it reverts back to what you previously had.
It only changes to the new hose diameter as long as the hose is plugged in.

What would be the best way to extend the length of my ClimateLineAir Heated Tube by 12"-18". I can work with it now but a little extra length would make it more comfortable.

Some masks will do it for you with the short hose that some masks come with.

If I was going to add more..this is what I would get. I have seen this hose...has a male and female end to attach to mask and the hose without needing connectors...and it's very light weight and very flexible.

Thank you for starting this thread! As a Newb it was enough information to move from "Auto" to comfortable.

I find my best combo (so far) seems to be 25C/77F & humidity 5. I generally like a cooler temperature and a bit more humidity.

I have found I'm waking up to what I can only describe as "rainout" conditions (no water in/on the nose, but loudly splashing in the mask itself.) The kicker is hubby likes a cold room to sleep (air set as low as it will go at 17C/62F).

My assumptions are: the cold room is causing condensation (despite the heated hose) and an alternative would be adding a hose sock/cover. Is that true? If so, can one add a cover to a heated hosed?

Do you have the machine sitting lower than the top of the mattress? This works in some cases because it allows the rainout to drip harmlessly back into the humidifier tank. (If you use an overhead hanger for your hose, this may not work.)

You can safely use a hose cozy on the heated hose but it may not be enough to prevent the condensation depending on just how cool that ambient temperature is and especially if your mask has a short hose involved....if it does don't forget to put a hose cozy on the short hose.

You might also try just increasing your hose air temp one degree...maybe two and it might be enough to prevent the condensation and still not get the air unbearably warm.

Don't forget that there is moisture in the air you exhale so sometimes that along with the incoming moisture will often condense in the mask itself when conditions are just right.
