I'm trained as a nurse and have spent years in the field of health information technology, yet I would never put myself forward as if I were a medical professional.
Don't come in here and start telling us what we should do. "put it in your chart" as if one's sleep doctor is going to be called in to consult when one goes into the hospital for an unrelated event. (hint, they won't be).

I'm an OSA patient. I wouldn't want to depend on amateurs for my treatment decisions.
When I call my doctor's office - "leave a message". Then play phone tag. At my 3 month follow up - "oh you need more pressure" (this was correct), they increased it by 1cm (this was useless). Start posting here and pretty immediately hear "you're probably going to need around 12 min pressure". Guess what? I'm at 11 now, and I'll probably end up staying there.

I'd encourage you to look at the 2nd screenshot in this post, to see what the "amateurs" have done for me. viewtopic/t171979/Update0705SH-data-ple ... 0#p1265437
If you read the entire post, you'll see my struggles along the way and the encouragement and great advice that I got.

This may have taken 5 years working with my doctor. Plus, I'm getting a heck of an education here. Don't you think that's important?

I feel GREAT, and couldn't care less what the chart at my doctor's office says. Next time I'm in there I'll tell them what my pressure prescription should be, and see what happens.

Do you see how interacting with your clinician could really save your bacon - especially in a medical emergency where you require hospitalization. It will be in your chart that you use CPAP. The original doctors prescription will be noted and guess what? The pressures that they give you in the hospital will be the ones that were originally set. If you are unconscious, your outcome could be affected.

There are advantages to having a doctor look over your shoulder when it comes to your "self help". Patients are known to harm themselves in their quest for "self help". On this forum, we surely wouldn't want to bring harm, would we? As a newbie, as we once all were, we need to be carefully looked after with the big picture in mind.

You really can't have a big picture view without your doctor's involvement.

pyater….

There's also the matter of your medical chart. Your clinicians are not paying attention to any of the pressure changes you are doing unless you bring it to their attention and it gets charted into your record.. Nothing will get charted before you next meet with your clinician - even though your data is transmitted wirelessly.

So I met with DME and was given a nasal pillow mask to try. I used the Resmed Airfit P10 last night. I feel great much better. AHI .32 - Here is the chart.

My questions are:

(1) higher leak rate shown but I don't have the feeling of air starved and AHI's look good. (it's only one night, I know).

2) MyAir shows 5 mask off events? Not sure why. I did wake up around 1:30 AM. There was a louder noise of expressing air. I took the Nasal Pillows off and reset and seemed to eliminate the noise. I did change the settings on my Airsense 10 machine to reflect nasal vs. FFM before going to sleep last night. Any thoughts or insights? Just looking for insight and advice as I transition from FFM to Nasal Pillows.

Graphs look great.

The leak rate did not go over 24l/m so on a resmed this is not an issue and not classed as a large leak, on the whole a great night how do you feel as the machine data looks very good.

Please redo your screenshot, look at my sig for istructions.

1) you didn't put the leak strip in your screenshot.
2) myair isn't useful for serious trying to make things better, I'd suggest ignoring it. if you're using pillows set the machine to pillows, 'nasal' is a mask that covers your whole nose.

Here is the proper view I believe - I also am not wearing a chin strap. However, mouth was not dry when I woke up today.

Closer, but get rid of the totally useless AHI chart, and bring in the flow limitations.

Better, please expand the six good strips so they fill the screen, and the useless AHI chart isn't wasting screen space.
