Re: PLEASE HELP BIPAP not staying in nsync ;) with me helllppppp
The BiPAP S/T has the following options you can tweak: backup respiratory rate, inspiratory time (Ti) - only applies to backup timed breaths, and rise time. The triggering and cycling is automatic, unlike on a ResMed machine.
If you're having a lot of central apneas, and/or your backup rate is too high, and the backup rate is kicking in often, then it forces the set inspiratory time, and an inappropriate inspiratory time may not match up with your natural inhalation time.
It would help if you can list your programmed settings, so maybe we can help you better.

How long have you been actually trying to use this machine?
Please look on the bottom of your machine for a different model because thisis probably the humidifier number. There should be another model number on a sticker on the bottom of the blower part of the unit.DS6HFLG S/N
Does your humidifier look like this one
DS6HFLG S/N
If so with it attached to the blower it would look like this.
https://www.cpap.com/productpage/respir ... ap-st.html
And will start with DS and then 3 or 4 numbers I suspect a 4 digit number with it being DS1050 which is the System One model line that was discontinued several years ago with first replacement the DS1060 and now the latest DreamStation model DXS1030xxx
If so...it won't ever learn your breathing pattern but there are some settings (I think) that might make it more closely match up to your breathing pattern depending on which mode you are using.
How bad is the CHF? Do you know your ejection rates? Was it 45 or below?
Do you have a copy of your initial sleep study without cpap? Was there a mention as to how many central apneas you had and what was the official diagnosis. This type of machine is usually given to people who have a lot of central apneas or more centrals than obstructive apneas.
In ST mode it breathes for you when you don't breathe according to the rate set up...it won't auto adjust or lean anything. You have to learn to adapt to it.
The machines that will learn some things about your breathing are called ASV machines and they don't learn all that much but they will sort of learn your breathing rate each night (doesn't remember a thing once you turn the machine off for the next night).
And really all it learns is a new auto backup rate to use when you don't breathe on your own.
Some docs won't dispense the ASV machines because of how bad a person might have CHF. There was a study some time back that scared everyone about what happened with ASV users who had ejection rates 45 or less.

MY BACKGROUND IS I was never consistently able to stay on the machine tried nose pillows they were ok but now I have a Apex Medical Wizard 210 Nasal Mask size Medium I like it a little better, not sure how many events I was having per night and the kind, I will call my DR, to find out, and I will try to upload my sd card for the history if that helps Y'all help me, it is just frustrating I spent thousands of me and my insurance money and no help, at all, just called the DR. while I was writing this, it may take a day or so to get my records, will post then, but I will pursue the upload, hopefully it will have a lot of good intel for Y'all

please review the instructions about how to arrange sleepyhead stuff so you only need one image per day.

You've squished the flow into nothing, we don't need the Resp rate, or tidal volume.

What mask are you using? Your total leak rates are kind of high for the given pressures, although I believe a PR machine can compensate for the leaks without much issue. Are you only able to use the machine for about an hour at a time?

Re: PLEASE HELP BIPAP not staying in nsync ;) with me helllppppp
Leaks are fine for a Respironics machine.
Would be bad for ResMed but Respironics reports total leak on that top line of the leak graph and large leak territory for total leak reporting is going to be up around 80 or 90 L/min. It varies with mask used and pressures but you have a lot of extra room there...so unless leaks are waking you up...they aren't impacting the therapy itself.

Yes, as the chart shows, the longest time I can tolerate using the BIPAP is about 2 hours, I am using a nasal mask.raisedfist wrote: ↑Wed Aug 22, 2018 9:20 amWhat mask are you using? Re: PLEASE HELP BIPAP not staying in nsync ;) with me helllppppp
So can you explain the difficulty more specifically as to what the problem is with the machine and your breathing pattern that makes it so hard to sleep with the machine?
Go here and request the clinical/provider manual for your machine.
Let's see exactly what your options might be to tweak some settings that might make things more comfortable but we need to know what the problem is first to try to figure out what might be changed.
I am not familiar with that machine and the various settings available to maybe get the machine more in sync with your own respiration pattern.
So get the manual and go into the clinical setup menu area and write down all the settings and options you see.
https://www.apneaboard.com/adjust-cpap- ... tup-manual
The manual will explain how....and what some of those settings will do.
I think either this manual
Respironics PR System One BiPAP AVAPS
or this one
Respironics PR System One BiPAP A40
Not sure exactly but should get us close.

According to what she posted earlier, it's a 1060, ST, SH is reporting the wrong machine. (unless I missed something).Pugsy wrote: ↑Wed Aug 22, 2018 7:01 pmSo can you explain the difficulty more specifically as to what the problem is with the machine and your breathing pattern that makes it so hard to sleep with the machine?

Re: PLEASE HELP BIPAP not staying in nsync ;) with me helllppppp
Yeah, I know but the apneaboard doesn't list that model manual available that I could find and mainly I just wanted her to be able to get into the clinical setup menu area and then tell us all the various settings available.
SleepyHead is probably reporting the wrong machine again
I just wanted to get a manual that was close and work with it the best we could.
Once we know what settings she is using and what are available to tweak then we might be able to come up with something that will get her synced up and more comfortable but right now we don't know what the problem is or what the options might be to change anything.
It doesn't really matter so much that the manual be a perfect fit because I would want to rely on the settings from the clinical menu area anyway.
BTW....have I told you lately how much I hate ST machines?

Huh, I guess apneabored is slacking... they used to have the manual, I got it from them....Pugsy wrote: ↑Wed Aug 22, 2018 7:21 pmYeah, I know but the apneaboard doesn't list that model manual available that I could find and mainly I just wanted her to be able to get into the clinical setup menu area and then tell us all the various settings available.

I'll PM her a link.
We could finish off a bottle of baileys discussing out joint hatred of ST machines :spit:
