Just plain. Frustration-ville!!!!
Many changes over the past few days. Now it seems like nothing works. Can't get anything to fit without huge leaks. If I get it to work at all, then smiley face goes green for ten seconds, then without making any movement or changes, Preston, frowny face is red!.
To boot, I am just one week out from surgery, my stomach has been left in last Wedensday! Yesterday, I was so green, docs gave me some meds, but cautioned me, don't drink with straws. ( air swallowing ) So last night, Res med underwent maintenance. After which the pressures were way high. If I couldn't get a proper fit, wasn't going to use it, I. A nauseated scenario, where the possibility of pushing even MORE air into my bloated system. So I didn't use it, didn't sleep very well due to nausea, then spent a horribly foggy, sleepy day, fighting NOT to nap, so that I'd be sleepy enough to fall asleep and stay asleep.
So today I did two things, found an education based sleep doc, (covered by my ins pay or! Also decided, since I'm sleeping on my back post-operative, I found the Phillips full face mask. So the same issue occured where feels like a strong wind blowing yet no good seal.
Anyone elsefedl like the user settings are way too high? I am going back to surgeon Friday and regular m.d. onto day. Signed feed up.

What are your current settings? Have you used sleepyhead software to see what is going on. If you post some graphs, we can help you change your settings.

Who would have thought it would be this challenging to sleep and breathe at the same time?

What surgery? Partial mastectomy. Cancer new 05222018. So, yeah, sleeping on my back is most comfortable but worst position for my respiratory function. More prone to apenic events when on my back. Side better, but more painful, and Can't find proper support to be pain free, and get mask to work properly.
Sat Nov 4 Wed may2 179 days AHI 0.70 FL 0.00 Autoset 37028 pressure relief EPR off mode APAP pressure settings min 5 max 15 cm h20
May 3 june 30 days 59 AHI 1.37 FL 0.00 Autoset 37028 EPR: off mode APAP pressure settings min 5 max 12 cm h20.
This is one of my pre-op summary from sleepy head. Later will try to get data in.
My plan is to visit a doc who on-line at least professes to offer much more education.
The supply company I use, can barely tell time, much less communicate effectively!
So I am still learning by the seat of my slacks!

Re: Just plain. Frustration-ville!!!!
Ok so NO, I don't know how to get SH graphs from there to here. My hubby did stuff at one point, but I tried today, and failed miserably.
What I did do last night, went back to old mask. Checked it completely, affixed it to my face, very tightly. Left nice imprints. But I slept, on my back about 3.30 hours.
Did have some other issues, BUT that fixed the LEAK issue, and I suddenly COULD tolerate the pressure rates again.
Noticed that the system I'm using, is scheduling more down time for maintenance.
How do I feel? Fair. With other med issues I'm having at present, I will get more sleep throughout the day.
So will talk with more folks on Monday, and see if they concur.
Any input, is always welcomed.

Re: Just plain. Frustration-ville!!!!
i am so new at this: hope this works. and it is what you need. surprised to find that I had zero leaks. But the Anew mask is aging, was strapped down so tightly, that it was leaving bruised nose cartilage behind. I switched back to the FFM by F&P Simplus. my reasoning now on my back post op, so might be easier. I also called my DME, let them have it. I kept on getting "Your not getting the best" not using four hours a night. Told them that I am post op, and fighting pain control, nausea, and vomiting. Also politely let them know that the cycle I just had where the use went down, then blank for a night, would repeat itself, as they have scheduled another surgery. Since then, I have heard nary a peep from the company . Now perplexed. the Anew may have worked, contrary to design specs. But, I can't sleep on my side, and that was the main reason for switching to it. I ordered the nasal pillows, because the physician ultimately thought it would be best. So Do I stick with the nasal pillows due in next months shipment? Do I see if I can get a new F&P Simplus, seeing as this is older? I may actually be able to, If I have the surgeon write an order for it, to go into surgery with me.
I am also thinking about using a doctor specializing in sleep disorders. I am confident that we are on the right track. Head feels easier to think, using less medications in other areas, (where lack of nocturnal oxygen contributes to some diseases) I know the major University I am using for my surgery, has specialists, yet I hate the hour plus long commute to get there.
Any thoughts, comments suggestions are always welcomed!

It makes it harder to help people, when they don't give us the info we need... and yes, that's frustrating.

Re: Just plain. Frustration-ville!!!!
Very frustrating indeed and I am starting to get a more hard ass approach when instructions have been given and they don't follow the instructions. If I am busy..helping them goes to the bottom of my "to do" list.
