What fullface mask is the most comfortable?

Post by redfeather » Fri Jul 20, 2018 1:06 pm

I am currently using a nose mask it is the Resmed Mirage FX mask and I am losing to much air at night and I wake up with chapped lips where air is blowing out of my mouth during sleep. The VA is talking to me about going to a fullface mask to help prevent the air blowing out of my mouth at night. I am wondering what might be the more comfortable full face mask that folks have tried out? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

You will probably get almost as many answers as there are masks. I have great success using F & P Simplus, Resmed F20, PR Amara View and PR Dream Wear full face mask. I currently using the Dream Wear full face mask, and think it is the most comfortable of all I have used.Once every two weeks or so, I wake up with my nose feeling tender, but it goes away within a few minutes.

Correct. The most comfortable mask for you is the one you stumble across after much trial and error. My best mask could very well be your worst. Personally I prefer the REsmed Quattro FX .

I like the Simplus FFM but am finding the ResMed Quattro Air FFM more comfortable. It is very lightweight and when used with a SleepWeaver Feather Weight 18" Tube extension feels almost weightless. I also find the DreamWear FFM very comfortable but after a couple of weeks of use it started leaking when my mouth opened slightly. Good luck in your quest.

The ResMed Airtouch F20 works well for me. Trial and error and reading mask reviews will lead you to the best mask or masks for you. Do not be afraid to use more than one mask, but not at the same time.

Whatever you do, try them on lying down because your face changes a lot then... and it'll matter.

Like some others, I have had good luck with several FF masks. I have used the F20 silicone, the Mirage Quattro and the F& P Simplus. I really like the Quattro best and have used it for 7 years, but for the past month I have used the Simplus. I have had no problems sleeping on my side with either one.

I find the Simplus FFM very comfortable and I'd recommend at least trying it.

Okay many thanks for the replys. I will try a few of these and see which one works the best for me. I have found that the key to getting the best results is to have a mask that fits you the best, so that you get the full advantage of your CPAP treatment. I notice a big difference when I get the proper amount of air during my sleep at night...I notice it the next day by not being as tired and groggy.
