Last night, Monday night, I abandoned my CPAP therapy for the first time in the 12 days that I have had it.
Mondays’ routine has me exposed to a bit more dust than usual for vacuuming and dusting. Yesterday I also blew off - leaf blower - the second story hot tub deck.
Monday’s therapy didn’t start well but I was able to fall asleep and sleep for 2½ hours. Then I realized that inhalation was more effort than was comfortable and I removed the P10 and turned off the machine. And got a normal good night sleep.
The decongestant with which I previous experience is pseudoephedrine, but that’s many years ago.
So, recommendations please for a nasal decongestant for acute and emergent use. Thank y’all in advance for your experience and stories.

Fluticasone propionate, also sold as Flixonase. Thank you.

Breathe right strips.
If that is not enough, mucinex nasal spray.
Strong stuff, but no little nasal "thing" gets between me and my cpap.

Oxymetazoline hydrochloride, thanks.
Also as Otrivin, Afrin, Operil, Dristan, Dimetapp, Oxyspray, Facimin, Nasivin, Nostrilla, Sudafed OM, Vicks Sinex, Zicam, SinuFrin, Drixoral and Mucinex Full Force.
Looks like the winner for single use against emergent acute stuffiness.

I may point out that Mucinex drops are very powerful and risky if used regularly.
I only use it on the rare invasion of an illness.
I take loratadine for my allergies--(wish they were seasonal, but mine have no off-season.)
Some things need to be reserved for special occasions.

Re: ISO nasal decongestant recommendations discussion
My go to drug for quick immediate relief....Afrin spray. I use the teeniest tiniest bit though and only in emergency because I am a known Afrin abuser and don't want to go down the Afrin rebound road again.
If for some reason the congestion is not a one time emergency thing then I get back on my Flonase on a more regular basis until whatever might be causing the congestion has passed. Flonase by itself doesn't give me enough immediate relief.
