Pillow Exchange - Shipping questions

Hoping to get some questions answered before taking part in the Pillow exchange, especially from fellow Canadians for the price oriented ones.

How do you safely pack Pillows (p10)?
What is the cost of shipping to the US from Canada?
Should I only be looking to exchange with other Canadians?
Is it cost effective to ship only one, especially from Canada to the US?
