I currently use O2 with APAP (2L/M) with a supposedly portable concentrator: O2 Concepts Oxlife Independence. I am thinking about getting an alternative that might be more travel friendly and less like constantly towing a wheely throughout the day. I would perhaps find this more burdensome given that I often transport photo gear as well.
Does anyone here have any specific experience traveling with one of these or similar units. (it weighs about 15-18 lbs and is roughly 8X8X12 with the handle folded)
An alternative for travel would be a significantly smaller unit but with the serious limitation of being pulse only and not useful with the xPAP. Wise council is welcome

Re: Questions about Oxy Concentrators
They now make small O2 units that are full flow units. Battery powered also. Good for travel but I wouldn't wear one out at home. Jim

The wisdom of having a backup is especially valid here.

Re: Questions about Oxy Concentrators
I completely agree with both points. The sticking point is cost - the least expensive constant flow small units are around $3000 or more - a lot for a backup and probably not rugged enough to be a replacement. I will continue to look (either a bargain or the money).

Having spent 23 hours in a 707, twice I've had my lifetime of travel, my answer is to stay home and plugged in. My got to go, has went and gone! Jim
