. . . I am a mouth breather. . . . Tammye

I don't think I do 100% of the time, but I would say mouth breathing at 70-80 percent, because I snore really loud. I am getting used to the face mask a little better, which is a huge relief. I had an AHI of 47, but for the last three days it has been 13, 18, 12. My mask was too lose on the 18, and I adjusted and got a 12 last night. How long did it take you to go down to 5 or under?

Also, I noticed some people said they have disabled the ramp feature. My 90% pressure is around 17 give or take and I find that that is quite high to start off like that while I am not fully asleep. My low for the ramp is 4 and I have heard some people also say that that is too low and to start it higher to 7-8. Did you have a preference to ramp no ramp and what is your pressure setting?

You just copied the previous note without commenting... is that what you meant to do?

Do you ALWAYS (24/7) breathe through your mouth? (Deviated septum, etc.?)
Or did someone at the sleep study TELL you? (no reason given)
It can/does happen--even when mouth breathing is only a temporary habit
that can diminish with effective treatment.
This is my actual post, which was totally changed to include tammye's answer.
(Those quotes can be so confusing)
We still do not know if she mouth breathes in the DAYTIME. That was MY question.

WHY?
Newbie not understanding quote and edit functions.

I suspect this is her response to your earlier comments.

To which I would add this comment about using the ramp when the starting pressures might be high...get the available software and see for sure what the starting pressure is. Just because a 90% pressure is 17 doesn't mean that it starts at 17. 90% pressures is just a number where the pressure was at OR BELOW for 90% of the time. The "or below" part of the definition is very important and it's not where the pressure was for 90% of the night.

Need to use the software to see the pressure graphs along with the AHI event category break down. The AHI is too high but we don't know which category is high and/or why. If someone is having a lot of trouble getting to sleep and staying asleep it wouldn't be impossible for the bulk of that AHI to be SWJ...sleep/wake/junk.

And if you want to use the ramp and it makes you more comfortable...use it. It's a comfort feature and your choice whether you use it or not. Worry about turning it off or changing it later once you can actually get some sleep.

I realized the quote was too confusing, and edited--apparently not quickly enough.
As for the ramp--not an expert-- have not used mine for years.
But ramp is nice if you need it--a nuisance if you don't.
My Zeo told me I was falling asleep way faster than the shortest ramp--so I turned it off.
