More Missing data from SmartCard

Post by jskinner » Mon Oct 30, 2006 9:15 am

Similar to another post here I had a problem with missing data from Saturday night. I had two sessions that night, one from about 11:30p-6am and the other from 6-9am. The second session showed up fine in EncorePro but The first one was no where to be found. After reading some posts I thought ok, seems like a known problem. Its was annoying but I could live with it.

Today I got up and downloaded my data, No data at all from Sunday night! Grrr. I even queried the SQL database directly to convince myself that there was indeed nothing from last night. So I don't know what is going on. Has anyone else had this happen?

In any case I decided to erase my SmartCard to see if that will help tonight. I don't normally erase it at all. It never was a problem on my Pro. I did a five minute test after the erase and EncorePro was able to see the session.

I would not even know how to approach a fix, but just wanted to let you know that I have encountered the same situation. I have not tried erasing the card, if that works can you post the same?

Did you loose just one nights data or more? Did it start recording data on its own after a missed session?

I will have to go back and look to see if it is multiple days, but I believe it was and there were days that "properly" recorded following the missing
day(s). I also seem to recall that what brought it to my attention were "gaps" in the myencore daily reports, where it showed zero hours on cpap, when I know I used it. I probably will not be able to check the program until later this week to verify, but once I do, I will let you know what I find.

In fact, I do not think that I ever checked the encore data to see if it was missing as well (I just assumed it was not and that maybe the zero days were another quirk with the myencore and the M auto machine).

James,

Here is what I have noticed.

Saturday nap early in the morning recorded, no problem, that night Saturday night did not recorded, there was about 18 or so sessions. Only Saturday night did not seem to record or is missing. Even with a missed Saturday night, the next day would be ok.

If there is less then seven sessions on the card, Saturday night will record, even if there are a couple of sessions on the card.

I now erase the data, on Saturday and no problem.

A session is either a nap or a night, what is recorded on one page of individual data is a session. I small interuption (machine off) is not a new session, it will appear as a blank on the graphs on the data page. I do not know how long the machine could be off and still be in the same session.
I can do this, I will do this.

How are you determing the number of sessions on a card? The only way I have seen to easily do this is to look at the SQL database (which I assume your not doing) or to do a 'Edit Interaction' in the Interaction List and count the sessions by hand?

I've noticed that we all have the same machine. Is this a M Series Auto only problem or does it happen to others as well? I never saw it happen to my previous M Series Pro...

James,

I couldn't find an earlier post, that mentioned missing Saturdays. Some one did not have an Auto (at least that is what their equipment list indicated.)

I mostly use the EncorePro to look at my data, I am basising the sessions for EncorePro.

I have noticed no matter how many naps or nights are recorded there is a maximum of 12 pages in a full detail report, five standard info pages and 7 detailed daily pages (or less depending on how many sessions are on the smart card.) I call each of those detailed daily pages a session.

Usually when there are already 7 pages of detailed info, the oldest is lost as a new one is recorded, except on Saturday night, it does not record. At least this is what I have noticed.

I think others are saying that Saturday data does not show up for them either.

I can do this, I will do this.

I think your technique may work. I have found an alternative way I believe. I select an Interaction and chose 'Edit Interaction' from the right click menu. I then can count the number of blocks as each is a session.

When I checked mine for the day before Saturday night... bingo, I had seven sessions!

My saturday detailed data didn't show either. Encore Pro had the hours on, but none of the detailed data. The I tried to erase the card and have been cardless ever since.... Must get a new one.... I have an M-Series Pro CPAP, not Auto.

Seems to me that this must be a bug in the REMstar firmware. Does anyone know if this problem has ever been reported to Respironics? If so, does anyone know if is a problem report number associated with this bug that can be used to call in and get progress status on it?

Which bring me to another question is the firmware upgradeable on these xPAPs? Do they ever issue upgraded firmware for problems like this or do they only included fixes in new machines?
