did I use the wrong filters?

Post by grybeard77 » Fri Mar 30, 2018 6:49 pm

I have a Airsense 10 Auto set machine bought new, Feb. 2016, and when I went to change the filter again, and finally got the door open, I was treated to a filter that looked clean, but when I tapped it over a large shiny black surface, I got a shower of very fine white particles all over the place. What the H???, Got a light and looked into the machine and ever surface behind the filter is coated with the same very fine particles.....Even the tube going into the machine is coated as far as I could see into it.
I try to change filters ever month, some times ever 2 months. I sleep in a very clean room, I think.
I am using the filters I ordered with the machine,
Part number 1011, disposable Hypoallergenic filters for S9 series CPAP machines...lot #1611377A date 02/15/2017

Have I ruined my machine????? Is this normal for these filters to do this?
Do I need to order new machine and filters????

Advice Please.

How long had the filter been in there? Do you run an ultrasonic humidifier in the room?

Most people would look at the old and new filter. As O.J. would say if the filters don't match, your DME screwed you again! Sorry I couldn't rhyme that, you are acquitted, just don't get into any bar fights. Jim

Don't keep the old one around to compare it. These are very white filters, on both sides. No difference between them.

Bought machine/filters at CPAP.com. No DME involved...

No filter catches everything, the regular filter catches the big stuff that'd end up clogging up the impellers inside. the hypoallergenic one catches most allergens... even with both of those, my antibacterial filter that's on the output still ends up turning dark over time.

There's been a lot of pollen in the air down here lately. (twice this week I've come out and found my car coated golden yellow.. (with a gullywasher in between).
