Climate Line and Airfit F20 coming apart

Post by dgschmidt » Sat Mar 24, 2018 11:59 am

Good day folks,

I have been using pillows for over 2 years with no issues whatsoever until last month. Just in time for my annual appointment with my machine provider, I caught a nasty bug that was going around work. I asked the provider for a full face mask because of the nasty sinus infection I had going on, which has nicely progressed to my chest!
They got me on a Airfit F20. Fits not bad (leaks occaisionally when I roll on it, but way better than snoring!) However, the worst issue i have had with it is that the Climate Line and the F20 don't seem to fit together as well as my pillows.... I can roll over, move my head or have the dog walk by and the hose pulls off of the mask. Then the big to do of waking the wife while I try to find the end of the hose and hook it back up again. Almost a nightly thing. Seem strange when the pillows only did that once when I pulled it apart in my sleep.

On the other hand, this cough I got from work now, was coughing so hard as I was falling asleep the other day, I put my hand over my mouth and blew the seal apart...

It works, but seems a bit flimsy and loose.

Anyone else? Any good ideas?
Have been thinking of taking Teflon tape to bulk up the joint a bit....

Thanks in advance,

Derek

How old is the climate line hose sounds like it’s time to get a new one as the rubber connector has deteriorated.

As a temp measure wrap some tape arround the elbow connector to the f20

well, I could try that... I have a spare. But I just tried it back on my pillows and it fits fine there...

Just use a little bit of teflon like tape to bulk up that joint at the mask so that it fits more snugly. Anything really could be used.
I put a few layers of scotch tape on one of my masks that was a bit loose at the long hose/mask connection.
All I had handy was scotch tape and it held just fine. Teflon tap would work or even some of that black electrician's tape stuff.
Won't need much.

Tried the tape and it did work great. Just enough to hold it together!

Thanks!

The end of the climateline gets soft sometimes, and thus, loose.

I fixed mine by wrapping a rubber band around the end, to give it a bit more grip.... worked great.

The first time I had a hose do that (not climateline) I thought back to my days of making fishing rods and how I'd wind the tightly wrapped bands of thread on to hold the guides... so I did the same thing on the hose (after hooking it up to the mask) stayed on for a couple more years, till I decided to get a longer hose ;)
