High Pitched Noise

I have a respironic system one with a humidifier,

There are several different models in the System One model line.
Look on the bottom of the blower unit for a 3 digit number for the model number. May have DS or REF in front or behind those 3 digits and maybe a P at the end.

Need to know those 3 digits.

I just got home the model number is 460P

The model 460 is the System One Pro 60 series Pro CPap.
I just wanted to make sure you weren't using some sort of really different high end machine of some kind.
Didn't want to tell you about a machine that wouldn't fit your needs.

Since you prefer to use your insurance you will have to find out first who has working contracts and is in network with your insurance company.
The only way to know is to contact the insurance company and get a provider list.

Now if you should decide you want to just buy either a new or gently used machine...we can help point you to finding a good deal.
Heck, sometimes your local craigslist will have a hot deal. Maybe get a gently used machine (if cheap enough) to get you by while you are going through all the hoops to get insurance to pay for a machine.
Then you would have a spare machine in case you ever get in this situation again.

I very much want to get a machine the more I think about it to get me through till I get all this figured out. What would you suggest? Do you think a travel cpap would make sense to get me through and have when I do happen to travel? Or go with a full machine?

Biggest drawbacks to my thinking for those tiny travel machines is noise and lack of adequate humidification.
For the units that have humidification option available by the time you add it you are just about at the size of a regular unit but still have the chance of increased noise being a factor. They had to cut corners somewhere to get the "tiny" and one of the things they cut was sound proofing material.

Then yes you are right I’d rather just get a full unit. Any thoughts on which one or where to look for the best price? Safe places to order from?

The offer both gently used low hour previously owned/used machine with a limited warranty and new open box zero hour machines with full 2 year manufacture's warranty.

No warranty though but usually with the money you save you are buying your own warranty.

I think if I were in your shoes and wanted to eventually use the insurance available I would probably go for a low hour used machine just like what I had been using.
Get just the blower and use the existing humidifier that I already had in my possession that is probably still working just fine.
