nasal creams? general question

Post by pikacat » Thu Oct 26, 2006 6:22 pm

hello everyone! i'm relatively new to the world of cpaps although i thought for years that i had sleep apnea. i had no idea how much lack of sleep was disrupting my life until i got a cpap and i was like, 'well, gosh! i can walk further than across the street now!' all that time i thought exercise was REALLY difficult and i was just a lazy bum.

anyway, i experience the common problem of nosebleeds so i purchased a cream (cpap moisture therapy). here is the product:

http://www.cpapxchange.com/cpap-product ... Ygod2yjEMg

it seems to be made by roezit, but it has a different name. it works well, unfortunately it has fragrance and i find that really intolerable. can someone please tell me if the regular roezit cream has fragrance in it? i've been trying to find a list of ingredients but cannot seem to find one. if it does, does anyone have any experience with cannease? product info:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000FZ ... F8&seller=

i think that is unscented. does it work well? does anyone know any other unscented brands? thank you for your time and help.

Just a side note - if you also use supplimental oxygen along with your equipment DO NOT use vaseline or any other petroleum based products due to the possiblity of skin burns due to the reaction to oxygen.

I use ayr gel and bag balm but someone said in another post that inhaling petroleum based products is not good, I am not sure how much of bag balm is petroleum based and how much is safe to inhale so you might want to check into it before you use it.

Cann-Ease Nasal Moisturizer: $17.00 for a one-ounce tube!

It had better be very good!

For me, Ayr is the most effective and benign nasal cream on the market.

I'm having great success with a lanolin product made for nursing mothers. The stuff reduces leaks......and I've got the softest nose anyone could ask for. Your local drug store will have it.

thanks for the tip! i just picked some up at my local grocery store. the fact that it's 100% natural appealed to me over ayr gel. it's called lansinoh, buckeyered.

Let's clarify inhale. I do not inhale... ....DO NOT inhale ANY product-Ayr, vaseline, vick, badger balm, bag balm, neosporin, cannease, lanolin, etc. They are meant to be applied in a very thin film to the area needing protection. Some are not meant to be applied to the inside of the nose. Though in honesty I do... ..-in a thin flim to the anterior nares (front of the nares) when needed-no gobs of the stuff or high in the nose so that it could possibly be inhaled (or melt and drain like post nasal drainage) into lower airways/lungs.

Thank goodness, the "breath of fresh air" that is just common sense to deflect all the "lubricant" fear-mongers who lurk here.

Thanks, krousseau, for providing it.

It's called Lansinoh (for breastfeeding mothers). It's in the baby stuff aisle at most drug stores. I found it at Walgreen's. The box is purple. It is about $10 for a 2 oz. tube.

Hi Amigo-haven't seen your name for awhile. Maybe I'm hanging around in the wrong threads. Kay
