cpap machine

Post by sleepyceri » Wed Oct 25, 2006 7:05 am

Does anybody have a Resmed S8vantage auto for sale? My stubborn sleep Dr. won't give me a prescription for one. I have been using a Resmed S7 for 2.5yrs., but my air pressure levels have changed & I can't afford to keep getting sleep studies done.

cpap.com - hosts of this forum, will sell you an automatic machine based on your cpap Rx, it doesn't have to say APAP.

You should be aware though that Resmed announced they will no longer sell their software online - so buying a Resmed machine will limit you to the info you get on the machine's little screen.

Respironics and Puritan Bennett have not limited sale of their software.
You can buy a automatic machine by either company, with software and clinical manual included.

...also consider whether or not you need/want C-Flex feature.

go back to your sleep doc saying okay okay you win you win, just give me the hard copy of the script and sleep study so I have it for my medical records (he can't deny you that).

then order the machine you want from cpap.com, fax over a copy of the cpap script (keep the hard copy) when the machine arrives with all the instructions for easy set up, tell the sleep doc seeya by cancelling your follow-up appointment.

then when they ask why, just tell them you got a new sleep doc, one more responsive to your needs. that is what I did to mine, he hasn't gotten a single dime from me in over 5 years. They called about 2yrs after that being real nice saying I should have another PSG as insurance will pay for it. I said no thanks, my autopap is working just fine and it produces all the reports I need.
