2nd week stats? any thoughts for improvement?
Re: 2nd week stats? any thoughts for improvement?
Yes, having a cold or upper respiratory infection can affect all the data and not just the CA/central numbers. In general we have to ignore the data that we get when we are sick. It's data that is clouded often by a lot of sleep/wake junk flags because we don't sleep so great when we are ill.
The machine doesn't know if you are asleep or awake. It only measures air flow and sometimes nasal congestion from the cold can skew the air flow data.
So between the nasal congestion and potential awake events getting flagged by mistake...the data seen when we are ill is questionable and thus not reliable.
What cold symptoms are you having? Is it just nasal issues and how long has it been going on?
Or is it the typical cold with congestion, cough, yucky all over feeling and it just now started in the last day or two?
In terms of the data you shared...I don't see the need to change anything as long as you are feeling and sleeping decently (apart from the cold issues which is separate).

Thank you. Just a typical cold. Stuffed up nose but can still breath through it.

If the typical cold symptoms doesn't seem to run its usual course and go away then you might look at your humidity settings.
The reason I mention it is because sometimes the nasal mucosa will react to the humidity setting by swelling up and giving us what feels like a "cold" or even allergy like response.
You might need more or less humidity if this ends up being not a typical cold.
Some people need a lot of humidity to keep the nasal mucosa happy and some people have nasal mucosa that actually prefer less added moisture and the only way to know for sure which way your nasal mucosa want to lean is for you to try more or less depending on what you are using now.
So if the cold seems to hang on longer than usual..you might think about the humidity setting.
Google "cpap rhinitis" if you think the cold symptoms are hanging on longer than they should be and are pretty much only in your nose.
I had a cold last week but I also had the usual cough and slight fever and body aches along with the nasal congestion stuff...so I know mine was just a cold.
When people are brand new to cpap therapy and they come complaining about a "cold"....I can't help but wonder if it is a real cold or the humidity and nasal mucosa thing causing a problem.
I have had the nasal issues from too little humidity and it could easily be mistaken for a cold or allergy attack. So just wanted to give you a heads up just in case this might be happening to you.
Of course you could have just been unlucky enough to catch a cold...just like I did last week.
