Hi again
These are my last two nights SleepHead Data. Looking for my best minimum pressure setting on APAP. Any ideas?
Thanks for feedback
Much Appreciated

I think your min pressure is fine where it is. Work on the leaks.

He isn't having any issues with leaks...at least not any that are in the 20% of the night magnitude that SH is reporting.
He has a Respironics machine and that leak statistic is incorrect due to how SH defaults to the Resmed 24 L/min threshold red line in the sand.
He needs to turn that off or change the threshold.
Look over on the graphs...there are no large leaks.
I may have to RISE but I refuse to SHINE.

To fix the incorrect leak statistic???
I explained how in your first thread.
viewtopic/t158028/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=1 ... 0#p1214220
See my post at the above link.
It would really be helpful if you would pick a thread to update and stick with that one thread instead of starting a new thread each time.
When you continually make new threads it makes it hard for people to know, remember or advise anything because we don't know what has already been said or tried or whatever.
Keeping things in one thread (at least for now with this one particular issues) helps us help you better/faster.
I may have to RISE but I refuse to SHINE.

Will do. Pugsy. Sorry. We'll stick with this thread then.
I take it you are referring to this paragraph from thread you pointed me then?
Go to Preferences in SleepyHead then the CPAP tab and on the right see where the red line threshold is set to 24 L/min. That's a ResMed leak number and it doesn't work so great for Respironics machines. Respironics doesn't ever give us an exact red line threshold like ResMed does because the red line varies with pressures used and the mask used. If you want to just use the events graph for leak evaluation...turn off the red line statistic or if you want to use it change the threshold to something more suitable to your machine. 70 L/min is a nice conservative number for your pressure needs. It's actually probably a bit higher
Thanks again for all the help. I really would be pushing the proverbial uphill without you lot. As little as I get to see a professional I'd still be stuck in the same rut getting nowhere on a fixed pressure. I'm sure there are hundreds out there that feel the same.

I'd say a min pressure of about 14.
Get OSCAR

Just been to see my provider (DME for American). Not happy that I put it on auto and she said minimum is to high so put it down to 6 cm H20. She says the 90% minimum is 13.4. So why? I'm not allowed to change it. Good thing is though. She gave me a mask with nasal pillows so hoping to address the leakage issue even though it's very minimal.

I would follow LSAT's advise for a week. The P10 pillows should help with the leaks.
If your numbers don't improve, the I would follow palerider's advice.

try min 13 max 17 and box in the 95% number on your charts, dreamstation like to have the min close to the 95%. your 95% was up to 15.5
I would have it 2cm under it, when your pressures settle down more.

I'm not allowed to change it while on trial. Oh and they don't fund auto. That's why she wasn't happy I played with it. So what happens if I really do need auto? I can't afford to buy my own one outright

If they are titrating you for fixed cpap, it is even more reason to move closer to the 95%
AS long as it takes a sd card, you will be fine, you can use sleepyhead to self titrate. for fixed pressure. I would have 1cm above the 95%. That should take care of most stuff, wait and see. I think you are going to be fine on fixed cpap. I would guess it is going to be about 15, with the flex you are using. The CA should settle down over the next 12 weeks. When you have just the single pressure, you adjust this 1 cm at a time up or down. depending on your AHI results
I think I would use a mask that covers your nose and mouth to get the proper stats. you need one when you have a cold anyways. I doubt you are breathing in for 3 sec and out for 1.5 and the machine is miss recording a breathing pattern hiccup or a bit of mouth breathing..

Ajack, he (she?) is saying that they're "not allowed" to change it while on trial. You are both in Australia? Is there something about the medical system in Australia that would prevent Danlo from getting a machine if he goes against her orders?

It sounds like the hospital is going to provide a free cpap. My sister obtained one the same way. First danlo has to self fund and pass a month trial, to show he is using it. After this danlo can do what danlo wants to, the machine is fully danlo's. My advice about fixed cpap and titration is for after the months trial. It is easier just to go along with the DME for now, why create issues. as far as I know, there is no limit on changing settings, during the trial, it is only usage. The sleepyhead charts over the month will give the info need to move to fixed cpap and it can be further titrated.

That would've been done through someone like CPAP Victoria or CPAP Australia. A month trial then pay it off till you own it.
Mine is being done by a public hospital which "permanently lend" it to you after pay for mask and a nominal charge.
You have to qualify with the trial by showing you need it and are using it. All told around $260 all up depending on cost of mask and any other peripherals I guess.
I only qualified because I have a health care card. Otherwise I'd have to do it the CPAP Australia way. Great that I can do this but very disappointed they won't fund auto.
I don't know if I have to comply after I make the payment and I don't know if they will give me just a CPAP and not an APAP when I pay for the new one but I really have no choice unless I have a couple grand I can throw to someone.
I think it'll go the way of fixed for somewhere between 13-15 cm. Which is absolutely fine by me as long as I know the fixed setting works for me.
