I'm curious as to what 17cm H2O via the nose delivers for me in terms of PAP where it counts (at the posterior pharynx, etc) compared to what the same setting of 17 cm H2O delivers for the average person. I guess there's no easy way to figure that our for myself. From what I've read, measures of nasal resistance while awake are not of any practical significance.TedVPAP wrote:Different air paths can have different resistance. R1>>R2. The effective resistance of two parallel resistors is Reff = (R1+R2)/(R1*R2). So when R2<<R1, the effective resistance < R1.

I also have no idea. Is your nasal passage adequate so that you can breath without the mouth when awake (without the PAP)? Mine is but I have to make an effort to keep the lips shut so I don't cheat. I had my septum repaired when I was 20. Helped me lessen sinus infections.FrederickRose wrote:I'm curious as to what 17cm H2O via the nose delivers for me in terms of PAP where it counts (at the posterior pharynx, etc) compared to what the same setting of 17 cm H2O delivers for the average person. I really like using pillows. Even when I am fully congested I work hard to get the air path open and then it stays open all night. In the morning, I take of the pillows and the congestion comes backFrederickRose wrote:I'm the same.TedVPAP wrote: Is your nasal passage adequate so that you can breath without the mouth when awake (without the PAP)?
