I have a F&P eson 1 mask and I noticed a small crack in the headgear plastic. Not sure if its designed this way or if it is an actual crack. Do I need to be worried should I contact my DME. I'm going on vacation next week so that is also a concern about getting a replacement if needed

If you don't have a spare handy then I would call the DME and explain the situation. It may not be a problem but you know how Murphy's Law works...and you don't want it to break while on vacation.
You should always have a spare of everything if at all possible...just in case.

I talked to my DME and I'd have to get a whole new mask. Of course they want more than any of the online stores want. I wonder if they will give me a copy of my prescription. I have an old mask but of course I got the new one because it wasn't working out well for me. It was a nasal pillow mask that I was taking off some nights but it could have just been not being used to it because I did that with this one too.

Its definitely an original eson. My doctor sucks it will take him forever to send the prescription. I'll just have to bite the bullet and pay the extra money. My DME wants $100 for the mask.

You should
ALWAYS have a copy of your prescriptions.. What if you are away from home and something breaks or fails.

I don't have an ESON to see if it has a crack in the same area...and it may not be anything to worry about.
I tried to find just the frame to buy because replacement parts don't require a RX but I didn't have much luck there...you can buy the whole mask package for less than the frame in some places. Only thing I found on EBay was people wanting nearly 3 times what cpap.com wanted for the mask so that's not a good place. Sometimes it is but not for this mask.
If it is a crack...it probably could be repaired with every man's favorite....duck tape. At least well enough to get you by in a pinch.
Let me see if I maybe have the ESON in the box of donated stuff. I don't think I have one but if I do I will send you a private message and let you know.
I may have to RISE but I refuse to SHINE.

You can buy all or parts (much cheaper) here:
https://www.cpap.com/productpage/fisher ... -mask.html
https://www.cpap.com/productpage/fp-eso ... y-kit.html
You would only need a prescription for a complete mask. Not so with parts or "kit".
You could also have CPAP.COM contact your doctor and request a prescription.

Funny how the mind works. When I saw the title of this thread, I thought it was about goofproof's avatar

That cracks been there for 12 years so far, at least it's not because I can't figure out how belts work. Jim

That's better than me. It made me think of denials from Marion Barry and Rob Ford.
