Have mucus at the back of throat after UPPP.

Post by y08hci0299 » Fri Dec 15, 2017 10:02 am

Anyone else have this symptom? It's been 1.5 years after UPPP and I have this 'lump' at the back of my throat, like mucus building up. Apparently it's called VPI(Velopharyngeal insufficiency).

I have it, without the UPPP. I thought it was Life. Maybe it's just life with Congestion. Jim

Yes, go to the doctor, be sure I know mine is allergies.

Go to a doctor anyway.
Anything new in the back of the throat should be addressed IMMEDIATELY.
Cancer is scary, but early beats the heck out of later.

I haven't read anything about VPI that remotely suggests Cancer. However, I would talk to your doctor. Hopefully, your surgeon or PCP will address any concerns you may have.
