Sleeping Through A Major Leak

Post by Sleeping Ugly » Thu Nov 02, 2017 5:09 am

For the first time in almost 3 months of using a nasal pillow mask--this time a Air Fit P10, my stats show that I had a major leak and I crossed the dreaded "leak red line" according to Sleepy Head. I did have a really crappy night's sleep. Woke up about 2 and was having what I call "wake-mares" which is having nightmares while still awake-ish. I had an RERAs shortly thereafter, a heavy cluster of PB, and finally a OA. How does one sleep through a major leak? I wonder if all of the mess was caused by having a major leak and disrupting my sleep OR if it was just due to the "shit happens" theory that sometimes, for whatever reason(s) people just don't have a good nights sleep.

I can seem to sleep through some really big leaks...way beyond the 24 L/min threshold.
Some people can sleep through massive leaks and some people get woke up by the teeniest tiniest leak.

Like this. This was mask movement leak when I was trialing the DreamWear gel pillows. While this didn't happen all that often and I did sleep through it this was part of the reason I went back to the P10. I think that I need an XSmall in the gel pillows and they don't make one. This happened enough that I just didn't want to deal with the DreamWear anymore.

With my Nuance mask and how the air vented from that mask, even a tiny leak would wake me up because I would feel it on my cheek. With the P10, because the air vent is SO diffused, I obviously do not feel the air on my skin to wake me up. You choose your poison! I like the P10 after only a few nights. I'll see if this a continued trend or a one-night stand.

You know what's funny about that ugly leak night I shared? I still got Mr Smiley face for leak management.
You don't get Mr Frowny until you are over large leak line for 30% or more of the night.
That's why I say it take a LOT of large leak for Mr Frowny to make an appearance and if people are seeing Mr Frowny then the have some serious leak issues to sort out if they are seeing him a lot. Now a once in a blue moon type of thing I don't worry about. We can all have really bad nights here and there and we just chalk it up to the aliens messing with us. Bad nights just happen from time to time.

Yep, I get ya! I totally agree. Sometimes the aliens pull my mask for their little alien cheap shots.
