You replace when it no longer is working or it breaks....

They would like you to replace it as often as you can in order to maximize profits. When I was using that mask, I usually got at least three months on a cushion before I started having problems with leaks. Others manage to go longer. The frame should never wear out, but may get broken. Headgear will stretch over time, but often can be renewed by washing in very hot water. Best advice I can give is to use something until it is no longer usable. YMMV>

Growing old is mandatory, but growing up is optional.

+1
If you're not seeing any appreciable change in fit or in therapy efficacy, why change it at all? If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

I wish the mesh vents in my P10 were replaceable--snap in, snap out.
As it is, denture tablets leave the frame way too minty, and the water pic is so MESSY.

I don't have problems with the mesh in my P10.

What is the exact nature of other people's problems? Is it because people are in hard water areas? What builds up?

I clean everything with Dawn dish soap every so often. The original Dawn, not any scented variant. I think Dawn is great for getting rid of any dirt and oil that might build up.

Of course the mesh must be allowed to dry before use, or air won't flow properly.

I use the amara view mask and really like it. I use the cushion for a full 6 months before I replace it and still have a zero leak rate. If it doesn't leak why replace it. As for the headgear, I have used mine for a year and a half now and it does not need to be replaced. To make it last I do not wash it because I use covers over the straps and I wash them. As for the velcro, I never have a problem because once I got the perfect fit I didn't undue the straps that have velcro. I just undo the buckles . Never have a problem.
