Oxygen Concentrator

Post by shortyd » Sun Oct 01, 2017 4:58 am

I will be traveling for the holidays no problem taking my cpap.
I will be gone for four days. I've been on cpap for 5 years just started oxygen 3 months ago how do I handle this.
Thanks

I am on 2L of oxygen at night with my cpap. But I can't comment how I would handel
going away for a trip because your health and oxygen needs may be diferent. You might
need to discus this with your DR.

When my mom used to travel with her 02 concentrator, she spoke to the company that provided her regular-sized concentrator. There are a number of small, wheeled concentrators that you could rent during your travel time that are nearly as portable as your CPAP. Good luck! We nicknamed her rental R2D2 and it was great to see her not lose a step.

Since you provided us NO Idea of why or the conditions you have for using O2, the answer HAS to be take it and use it like at home. For me, the O2 is only added to my XPAP stream, I can do without it,and would, but then again I wouldn't be going anywhere, due to my overall health. Jim

How many LPM of oxygen? SimplyGo or SimplyFlo in my opinion is the best portable continuous flow. It only goes to 2.0LPM. Even then it is a little bulky but will fit in a suitcase if you want to pack it and weighs 10lbs. SimplyFlo is about 8lbs and has no battery. Same size. I think SimplyFlo is better if you only use with CPAP.

One option is to check with your DME and tell them where you are traveling to. They often can make arrangements at your location for a rental at another DME - sometimes this is even covered by insurance.
